***OKIES in the BYC III ***

You might contact Martin Nature Park in OKC on Memorial Road west of Mercy Hospital or a local zoo. My Aunt had a baby skunk back in the 1980s that was de-skunked by a vet so it couldn't spray. Not a good pet! but then no wild animal is.

Morning Okies,

Sure was hot yesterday. I took ducks and chickens to the flea market in Tulsa and did pretty well. As I was packing up to leave, a lady complained to me that the little ducks needed water. I pointed out that they had water in their waterer. They were panting because it was hot. I was panting because it was hot. Everyone was hot. (I had a 9 X 9 awning over my cages and two roll-up bamboo shades were hanging from the east side.) Shoppers came just to stand in the shade, and most looked at the ducks

Anyway, the ducks had consumed almost two gallons of water that morning. They were fine. I also explained that I brought a gallon of water for each cage I'd brought to the flea market. She rolled her eyes, sighed heavily, and said something I couldn't hear. I felt attacked, like she'd accused me of abusing my ducks. When I got home I let the ducks play in the sprinkler for an hour. When they'd pooped out, I moved them back into their pen, where they fell asleep in sloppy piles around their swimming pool.

Morning all, had a nice visit with Teach, Ol Cowboy and his wife, Calvin, and Micheal at Blanchard last night, made it through without buying a thing, now if Calvin would have let that Gray Cock he bought go I would have come home with him!!! Sorry, I don't know of anyone with them. I've always thought that if I were to ever get some geese, it would have to be Sebastopol, since they are so cool looking.

I live near Geonimo and have grown fond of the winds. If it wasn't for them we would bake in the summer.

Very interesting using the epson salts. I've always heard they're good to put on some plants, but never thought of spraying them with it. I think I'll go looking for some today ... along with some bloom set and some fertilizer.

Oh, and while surfing the web last night I read where old timer's tap the tomato plants to help the blooms self polinate. I bet we don't need to do that with this wind! But maybe there's so much wind here that the polinating stuff blows away

When I talked to Gerald last night on the cell phone when he was at the sale, he said he didn't see any of ya'll, except for Teach and Michael. I think the only reason he saw them is because they talked to him. He can't see too good in his old age.

I sure wish I had been able to go there and visit with ya'll.

Lynn, Congrat's on the oldest boy today!
