Stacy - I enjoyed meeting you and your little one. Sleepyheads are wonderful traveling companions. Sorry I extended your drive. I did find The Lazy Fisherman on my way home. You're right; it's at the fork. I must have been glancing at my map when I passed it the first time. In a few days your new girls will be used to you, so be prepared for the gold/yellow EE to fly up to your shoulder or back when you bend down to fill feeders. She may even fly up to your feed bucket if you move slowly. Treats will decrease the getting-to-trust-you period. They love the little bit of cereal that's crushed and powdery at the bottom of a Cheerio's box

Stay in the shade, everybody. It's going to be another hot day.

When I was in the Army in early 80's at lawton there was a steak house at Med Park we would go to some. Had the biggests steaks I ever seen. They would bring them out on a regular plate, and they would have to be folded over to fit on the plate. Me, (Okla) my first sgt, (Texas) and Company Commander (Neb) would always bet on coll. football. A steak in Med Park would be the wager. Always thought that was the neatest little town.

There was a steak place like that in Tontitown across the state line into Arkansas we used to drive to with 1st hubby's parents ack in the late 70s. Red and white checkered tablecloths and great yeast rolls. All those neat mom and pop places are disappearing.

Hubby just came in and said the cat had "treed" a big rat snake by the back door in and around the pots of plants I had moved there for protection from the sun...3 '...too big to be around the back door! Good Murdock..tuna for dinner tonight!!!

Off to decorate for the reunion dinner tonight.

Afternoon, Okies:

I attempted to bring some lumber up to the barn from the pile that was originally intended for a dock on the west pond. I found a big snake skin by the pile of wood, so I used a rake to pull the boards off, one by one. When I got down to the dirt I was surprised by a big nest of snakes. I think they are bull snakes. I've got half the pile of wood moved. I'm going to let DH help me finish the job. I kept imagining there were snakes sneaking around behind me when I bent down to pick up the boards I'd pulled off the pile. Creepiness. I am not a snake fan.
