We add 1 fruit tree each year, that seems to work since you have to water them quite a bit for th efirst few months till the roots get set good. This year was Cherry, Might do Pear this fall.

Sure is warm today! I'm loving this!

Shot an archery tournament in stratford today. I shoulda drank more water before getting there cause I threw up twice while on the range.

Thinkin about goin swimmin at robbers cave later when the sun goes down and it water isn't as hot as bathwater!

Be cool yall.

Where are you going to get fruit trees in the fall? I would so much prefer to plant them in the fall, but have never found any available until spring.

We have good luck with trees ordered from Stark Nurseries. They re guaranteed too.

Coral,

Your snake pic gave me the heebie jeebies.. (shudder)

Oh my word these temps are giving me flash back to living in El Paso Texas... The year we lived there that summer they were hitting 115 for 6 weeks in a row.. it was HORRIBLE.. folks were dying left and right from lack of A/C and being able to keep cool...

We found our GP Bailiff hiding between the A/C unit and the house where the drip line is... and because it drips we have sprouts up the wazzo so he was well hidden we thought he was MIA from the property.

Lost one of our Jersey Giants today.. the first casuality in lil over a month from the heat..

If this heat doesnt let up soon.. we will have to seriously down size the flocks... Hate too after we were just getting established... but supplementing all day to keep them fat and happy is to much MOOLA! and I hate to see any animal suffer .

UPDATE: We lost two birds today to the heat.. Aleisha baby chochin and the Jersey Giant from earlier

i am keeping my big guys penned up- seems one of the brahma girls was going down to FIL and picking the tomatoes....

my tomatoes and cukes are safely fenced and producing- but FIL was too thrilled...

this heat is unreal- i am used to santa ana winds in california, but this is really wearing!

We just got back from picking up Grace at OBU today. She was at a worship arts camp called Resonate. At the end of the week they presented a concert for the public. Anyone want to see what it was like....

For those who don't know Grace she is the one standing on the right and doing the signing. (The signer on the left is our oldest daughter Nikki)
