Welcome, we are just West of ya'll in the Cashion/Kingfisher area. Personally I think that you need some Naked Necks and Oriental Games, wonderful birds.

Seriously-I'm liking those NN more and more. The 1st time I saw a picture of one I thought it had been dog-chewed. But the more I see pictures the more they grow on me. What's their temperament like? I've got 3 wk old Silkies and I'm not seeing the "docile, gentle" temperament they're supposed to have in them at all lol! They're like a bunch of 2 yr olds on candy bars & Mt Dew. (But I do adore them).

I love him! Depending on their personalities that would make a perfectly wonderful pet chicken! I've got an 8'x30' RV right next to the house that has my computers in it, stove, fridge, shower, everything. It's where I've got the baby chicks. I can't keep them in the house because I have too many dogs that would love fresh chicken dinner ;-/ I have 2 pet Doves in there but have really been wanting a pet chicken, they make the cutest little diapers for them lol! Yea, laugh all you want, I'm used to it :-D With a naked chicken I'd have a preset excuse that I *have* to keep him inside because he has no feathers. A win-win situation for me-haha!

lmao!!!!!
Someone let me know when and where the swap isnin Sept. I've got to go! I bet my husband would even skip a gun show for that. He's wanted a bunch of chickens for as long as I can remember. He works too much to be able to take care of them so needless to say he was thrilled when I said I wanted chicken yards and a big coop. I've got more than enough time to take care of them :)

I am new to OKIES in the BYC III. I live in Norman, Ok and I need some help. I am looking in to getting the chicken laws changed. If you live in Norman and own chickens I would like your support. I recently found out that I have 10 days to get rid of my chickens because their enclosure if 95 ft away from the neighbors dwellings instead of 100 ft even though this particular neighbor loves my chickens and does not care. I am just now starting to look into other city's codes so if you live in a nearby city and you are allowed to own chickens if you could inform me of your city's chicken laws that would be very helpful too. Thank-you

Was there lots of chickens there today?

There were about 70 cages of chickens, with 2-4 birds per cage. As you recall, you don't get to choice out a cage - it is by the bird and the winning bid takes all in the cage. Not many folks were bidding on the game hens, so Monty had a good time and took some home with him

Have you checked out the L.O.R.E. thread? That has Local Ordinances and your Rights and Entitlements for a lot of municipalities across the USA. Here is the link

Have you contacted your city council representative and asked if they would support you in the acquisition of a variance? It may be possible to go before the City Council and seek a variance from the code, since your neighbor that is closer than 100 feet doesn't care about the chickens.

I ended up with six new hens. Maribeth is an enabler in more ways than one.

But I am thankful she was there to help me decide to buy them.
Some very good game roosters sold for a lot less than the last time. $20 was the highest paid. Most went for $15 or so.
Jared didn't go with me so I didn't try and buy a rooster this time.

Well I was planning on taking some birds to Cement tonight but when I went to load them, they already looked so hot that I was afraid to try and make the trip with them.
Then I decided that I was so hot that I am gonna stay home too.
Hope everyone has a great time.
