Sorry about you losing PW its always sad losing an animal or bird.Probably dont have what you like but i would be happy togive you a bird
That's nice of you to offer Don...I'm good. PW was one of those special little birds that was a pet not a breeder. He was a silverlace Polish that UpcDazy gave me because she couldn't have roos in the city. He was Personality Plus.
Spent the morning putting up 4 roos (My big roo, a BR and two cross roos) for the freezer and will work up two more tomorrow...another BR and an EE (he is gorgeous).
I have three little SLWyandotte roos that are 4 months old...will wait on them and pick the nicest one to be the roo for the three SLW pullets. These were the little black chipmunks I bought at Atwoods in the spring.
The birds I bought from Jarvis are growing nicely. The Columbian Wyandotte trio are getting big! The BLRW pullets are now laying and will be using The Jarvis roo to fertilize eggs from them for fall. The two Blue Cochin pullets have a new roo (3 -4 week old) to grow up to service them - Thank you Carl and Stephanie.
That will make four roos to specialize breed pens...something I haven't done before.
I have a young Australorp roo coming up also to run with the Australorp, Delaware and black sex link layers. The rest of the girls (EE, New Hampshire, Polish, Chantecler, Hamburg, Ancona, RIR will be running single for a while. It's too hot to try to let any go broody or place eggs in the bator. The heat has caused the girls to slow down a little on egg laying too.
The Cochins and the White Crested Blue (lavendar)Polish are in the hot tub room with Angel. I have an empty cage in there for anything else that begins to look stressed.
Just counetd up and there are 14 different kinds of chickens in my flock....wow.
The soaked oats were a hit with all the pens today. I tossed out several cups into each pen and you would have thought I was passing out candy to children.
