***OKIES in the BYC III ***

City is right Jarvis. Those pens are neat. I guess that will be the design I will try and adhere to when I start making more pens. For bantams they are just right.

Been out and watered the flowers. Even tho we have had regular rains this heat drys the ground fast.
Found another chick injured that had gotten out of the loft and the neighbors Taco mutt got ahold of. She just does regular patrols watching for them. She knows better, when she sees me she takes off. I hate to say anything to the neighbors and get them mad but she sure is irritating!
Well its been a week and I still miss my Taco dog. I keep fresh flowers on her grave, silly I guess but she was much loved.

Poco those are great looking goats! I am not a fan of the earless type but those are very nice and healthy and happy looking. Are you going to milk them?

They are very prolific!

We hit 112.3 today.

Hubby blew a tire today coming home from checking cows....at least all the tread came off. They were able to crip home the last 6 miles.
Ran to town with the wheel and got to visit with DGibson while we purchased a replacement tire. Met his son today too. Always learn something from Don each time we visit.

The dozier man came to check out the job sites today and said he would need lots of dirt to cover the tin horns....so he will dig a pond in one of the hay fields to get the dirt...we lucked out with that one. He is bringing in his dump truck, a back hoe and his dozier for the job. Should start soon.

Got my first cantaloups from the garden today.

A nice little drive! My 2 wk old Cochin babies are SO special! The idea that their little bodies and legs formed right here next to me for 3 wks before they hatched is so precious. And even as tiny babies they're softer than my Silkie babies.
The bank clock said 110 degrees at 6:00. I did NOT know that until a little while ago when my husband told me. I was outside pushing a mower and working on the chicken pen for 4 solid hours. If I'd have known it was that hot I'd have hoofed it to the house. For some reason I thought it was in the 90's. It always feels cooler when I've got my earphones in listening to music.
