***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey everyone

Busy Busy... today our good neighbor came by to see if I would be interested in his left over bails of hay.. he is off to I believe the remainder of his herd of cows tomorrow..

so I am picking up about 8 bales to help keep our two horses, goat and chickens(they use it for bedding) satisfied through the rest of the year and come next spring...

Wow this drought is sure nasty... I am having to water the lawn at least once a week to keep it from catching fire... from the folks who seem to think the world is their ash tray.. (not everyone who smokes does this I am just talking about the dorks who do).. This weather has been horrible with our birds that they are now flocking all over the place in areas we dont want them to be, course they are on the search of bugs and grasses since there isnt much to munch on at our place outside of the "feed". I get excited now when we see a cricket or two come in the house because I know I can toss it to the birds and they are happy to get a meal.... (sucks for the bug though) alot of the interaction right now reminds me of Oliver and the ... Please Sir can I have some More scene.. our birds are so hungry for bugs that our "feed" budget is being stretched just to accomidate them...

How are you all fairing?

Thats a cute picture Robin. There is a weeks differant in length of bantam egg and guinea egg. But you probable already knew that.

Had to post a picture of sailor on here. I posted him on the NN thread, but thought some of you guys might like him too. Bought a grab bag (box) of 12 NN chicks at Blanchard a couple weeks ago. Turned them in the brood house with all my chicks. I noticed this guy right off. Named him sailor because his comb puts me in mind of a sailors cap. I dont know what type comb you would call this, but it is neat.
