Great bird photos this week

Weather projections from the Nat'l Weather Service indicate another 3 weeks or more of high temps with some relief within 12 weeks...at least we have no tornadoes, mosquitos or blizzards.....although I'd take hail and snow right about now! We usually get rain ab out State Fair days....

First of all, I'd like to brag on my girls... 5 eggs today, even in this heat! Bless their little hearts. I've only got 6 hens, and one is trying to set right now.

Just wondering how long I can expect her to keep this up... should I move her from the other hens? I take any eggs she's managed to steal everyday, but she always manages to have one or two under her. I'm sure that isn't discouraging her to quit.
Also wondering if I'm asking for trouble by letting my hens wade in water. I noticed one day that they were wading in a pan of water when they were lose in the yard, so I took the top of a birdbath and put it in their pen and have been keeping water in it for them. They seem to love wading in it, although I have to admit I've never seen this behavior before in chickens. So unless this could cause some health problems, I'll do what I can to help them stay cool.
