uh oh... I'm afraid to ask... what's chicken math??

Chicken math! No matter how many chickens you start with, or figure out how many you want and how much room you have there will always be more!!! Everybody needs more birds

there's a post somewhere about it. I'll see if I can't find it

Pet chickens don't count because they are pets, so therefore not really considered chickens
Chicks don't count because they are chicks, not chickens
Chickens you are going to cull don't count because they won't be here long
Bantams, Sultans and other small chickens don't count because they are small
Any chickens in quarantine don't count because they aren't in with the rest of the flock
Stupid chickens don't count because... well.. they are stupid (And yes I do have a few that are reverse Einstiens)
Any chicken that runs loose doesn't count because they are yard chickens, not really considered real chickens
Any chicken that was free doesn't count because you didn't pay for them

This is only part of it

You failed to add if they do not lay eggs they don't count, so Roosters and pullets that are not laying yet are not considered Chickens for Chicken math. As you can see many of us do not really have very many "Chickens" based on that math.

To be perfectly fair and honest it will be quite some time, Once I get the pullets raised up and back to breeding age will be 9 months past hatch, some may still be culled up to 18 months of age so my Breeders will not be fully re-established until next fall with the first availability of known good birds will be 2013.
The best source I can point you to for some good BLR Wyandotte will be Jerry Foley with Foley's Waterfowl. they have some of teh best in the country and do sell day olds at a reasonalble price or will meet with birds at most shows they attend.

Had a busy evening, here is my free craigslist stuff for today,

19588_rats_002.jpg

Female guniea pig with cage, igloo, water bottle and feed dish, two bags of food, bag of treets. unopened bag of paper pulp bedding, and a bag of hay and a carrying case. next stop was a cage and nine rats, four females and five males. Been wanting to try some rats and the price was right on these!lol. Part of them are hooded and part of them solid blackor with white feet. The guniea pig is white with dark ears like a california rabbits. That makes two I have like that, both females,if I can find a male I can breed them true. I like that coloring.

I have a Chicken Math testimonial - I started last June with 2 pens, somehow that multiplied into 75 birds.
