***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good hatch Joe,apparently the two year old knew what she was doing!lol. I want a start in the gambels and scale ones.Did you find your eggs local or have to oder them?

Sooner your going to flunk in chicken math! Your supposed to get more not less!lol Mayeb Lil Sooner will make up the loss in increased numbers of show birds!lol

Boy the air is heavy here. Still overcast but 98 and its like walking into an oven. Not a breath of air moving.I took the chicks out some boiled eggs and almost felt bad making them all excited in this hot! They sure enjoy the mashed eggs.

We are a cool 107 right now. Just wet down the pens again and took the girls some chopped cucumbers and watermelon.
Getting them to move around helps to get them breathing and flapping their wings to cool off some. Also gives others a chance to get into the cool dirt holes.

Yeah I am okay with flunking if we have another winter like the last one. Then put that with the summer we have had it has been hard to be a chicken farmer. I can use the time to re-build & improve the pens & set up that I have. Lil'Sooner has almost as many as me now between her pets & the show ones.

How are things down there today Micheal? I think we had a cold front come through it only made it 109 today and the bad part is that didn't feel too hot, this is getting scary.

Hey Jarvis, I've been printing articles form the Exhibition Poultry link you gave us...I've got reading for a long time!

Jarvis Roo did some flight training today...both wings are doing great. He got a lift off of about a foot and landed 4 feet away. Surprised himself silly. Did a flip in the air and ran back into the teen pen.
