Evening folks. Just checking in before bedtime.

Fanantical ,where is Cedarville? I am from Joes area also and don't rember ever hearing of it.

Well got me two beagle gips off craigslist today. They are both tricolors,and are 10 inch beagles. Have been in a pen all their life and not messed with so are not real friendly yet. Hope I can get at least one to tame down and be a good pet. They are fat and healthy just never had any petting. Guess I will be making a dog pen tomorrow!

So far just a few sprinkles but supposed to be headed this way by the weekend. Got to make some sale cages tomorrow too. The Elkton,Ky sale is sat. Its a really good chicken sale.

Cowboy sounds like those Mondaines are going to get down to business! The ones I had sure were good breeders. I didn't think the heavy breeds would be as prolific as those were.

Hoping everyone is getting some rain and a break from the heat, even if it is only 10 degrees. It's kind of funny when you think it's nice outside, only to realize it's 97 degrees!
We finally got some rain... thank you God!, but it came with 90 mph straight winds and Perry town got pretty torn up. Won't be eating at sonic for awhile. It is sad to drive around and see all the huge old trees that were uprooted. Not sure if it was because of the dry weather or just because they were big, but many many of the biggest trees are gone. Barns took a beating too... tin and debris everywhere. We were lucky, only ended up with the neighbors fence in the yard. The hens were safe and sound in their house and it didn't even blow away their pen, although the tarp we had stretched over the top got shredded.
Hope more rain is on the way for everyone!

Wow I haven't been on here in forever!

But I had to stop in for a minute to share a bit of good news in my poultry-world

As some of you remember, I got to be the superintendent of the poultry and rabbit barn at my county fair last year. Well, this year, they called to asked if I would volunteer for the job again, AND if I would like to judge the bantams this year! Of course I would! Since my poultry owning is down to a few layers (and the 20 chicks they've managed to hatch this summer

) I was a bit sad at the thought of not getting to show at the fair this year.....but now I get to judge, which is possibly even better!

WElcome back Grace! Thats great news! A start as a judge is the first step. I am sure you will become a well know and sought after judge in just a short while.

Cloudy here and a tad cooler. Been out and tied the new beagles out. They are really terrified of being touched but don't bite so that is good.

Well we found out what is causeing the late night bouts with the MIL. She has "Sundowners Syndrone" . Its usually caused by a uti which she has been diagnosed with and the onset of dementia..Unfortunately not much can be done for it. IT causes people to "wake" up at dark and become totally confused and irritable and mean and goes away at sunup. I suggested to the wife that it sounded a lot like a vampire but she didn't think that was it! I'm not for sure yet!LOl Gotta laugh there is nothing else to do!

Well I've got to go and bath the dogs and clean the garden off. Check in later.
