***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thank fully that storm rolled through pretty quick. 1 1/2 inch hail, trees bowed over from the heavy wind and rain so hard you couldn;t see the road. Channel 9 said 90 mph winds in our area and I believe it.

Winds at 60 out of the north. Lightning over Haskell. Thunder. No rain yet. Chickens, ducks, and goats are battened down. I'm unplugging this machine and watching the news. Hope everyone stays safe.

Joe - Sent you a PM. Good luck in Centerton tomorrow at the sale. You'll do well. You've got some really great birds. Some time this coming week I'll post pictures of the Coros. They're doing great.

Okay Nana,I think we have something like that here also. Your right it makes the yard look bad between mows. Sounds like some of you are getting storms again. Hope all stay safe.
Wife got Mil transfered to the rehab/home she works at today. It will be easier for her to keep tabs on her.Don't know how long she will be there. Silly SIL plans on taking her to her house to live in a week or two . Hoping we can just keep her in the place she is now.

My bantams are starting to lay again. What few I have left. Been culling pretty hard this summer. Have lots of young birds I'm saving for next season. The third muscovy hen has started her nest. Looks like I will be knitting duckling booties this fall!lol I'm taking a variety to the sale tomorrow. Guniea pigs, rats, parakeets, pigeons, chickens!
Well better go stir up some supper, wifey will be here soon,I hope,I'm hungry!lol

Old Cowboy,

Thanks for the A-Frame plans, got 'em just in time. That storm that missed you all the other night got us - took the holding pen and nearly the whole chicken run! Our chicks were taking lessons from the big girls in the "coop side stroke". Since the holding pen is now gone we are going to Blanchard tomorrow evening. We need to sell a couple more game roos and - well, I now understand chicken math! Thanks to all y'all. And yes, I'm allowed to say that 'cause I'm from Alabama ... razed in Oklahoma

. Hope everyone has a nice cooler evening.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a rooster bigger than the bird in the picture but I have hens that look just like it. My money says hen, but I have heck telling on the NNs sometime.

You're sure thats a male? Has it crowed?

Could it be a pullet? I don't know. I've never been around NNs before. It is still pretty young, hatched in April.
NN folks - help!

Anytime, anything I can do to help out.. and everyone south of the Northern Kentucky Border is allowed to say "Y'all" I truly prefer that to You'ns. You just have to watch your slang in certian parts of teh country, or avoid it so they can try to guess where your from.
