Jeanie, Sorry can't help you with that one...
We are back to making more Pear jelly, preserves and probably butter. I do not think we will get all teh way through them before they really start to go bad so if anyone is nearby and would liek a few very good, sweet tree ripened pears give us a call. I still have somewhere around 200lbs.
The Birds are loving all teh trimmings and cores and seeds from teh effort. Not to mention the bruised fruit and over ripened fruit they are getting daily.
Made my chores so much easier for the first time in a great long while I have no breeder birds inside to tend to two to three times a day. they are all outside with larger feeders and 3 gallon water containers. the next generation that I needed for next year has been hatched and is coming up so no need to continue breeding these birds so heavily. that saved me hours of work everyday.

The Blanchard Auction generally is held the 2nd and the 4th Saturdays at 5 PM in the Blanchard Vo-Ag building BUT, they announced at the last one that the next auction will be held September 10th NOT Aug 27th. So plan on the 10th and we'll see you there!
Afternoon all! I was wondering what would be a good price on 2 styrofoam incubators? One has a turner. From what I can tell they are good shape for being used.
Quote:
New they run around $40 for still air and $60 for forced air. The turner is another $30. Used I would expect to pay less than half price. We found a forced air Hoverbator in a garage sale for $2 but that is rare.
Hope that gives you a ballpark figure.

Thanks. I appreciate it. After I posted this I went to check the pic and now i'm not so sure it's styrofoam. I'll try and post a pic.

The Styrofoam ones are far too small, you need a big one, you know poultry is theraputic and some of us need a lot of medication.
