Lynn have you tried Ronnie Ackinson(not for sure on spelling, sorry Ronnie) in Tahlequah,he talked about javas at one time. Not for sure if he still has them.

Beautiful Yokos Joe! I still like the whites best!

Sooner,no they don't have fuss for a couple of weeks. This pair is both blue and they trow sky blues, violets and shades in between.

Bethin OK. no they use nest material, you have to make the nest block concave so the eggs all stay in one place under the hen. If they have stuff in the nesting box they just sit and chew till its all powder!Boreing job I guess!lol

Supposed to back up to a hundred tomorrow. I got a Dr. app. tomorrow, just check-up and meds. Haven't felt all that great today. Need a new chicken project to get me up and going!lol

I posted last night, but it was very late and maybe no one saw my post. lol Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom on incubators? I doubt I'll ever be hatching many eggs at a time, but I'd like to hatch more than 6-7 at a time. Any brands I should look at or stay away from?
Thanks

Wayne, Is your vining okra similiar to the loofa squash?
When young and tender it can be cooked like okra...sliced, fried...etc. But when allowed to dry on the vine, it becomes the loofa sponge. The mature seeds are dark brown almost black.
If it is not the same, I'd love a few seeds too.

Have a gqf incubator & hatcher also have a brinesea Eco. The brinesea is my favorite, but only holds 2 dz large eggs or 27 guinea eggs. If I buy another it would be a brinesea. Tried foam ones & hate them.

The best advice I Can give you is buy a good quality thermometer/hygrometer. A good one will be between $30-$40, but you wont regret it in the long run. I wasted a lot of eggs depending on a cheap thermometer.
