***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Upcdayz I understand your rant. Lawton is far from the type of place where home values are determined by what people do to their homes or yards. The house that doesn't let a leaf drop in the yard is worth the same as the house that has a yard full of weeds. Value is determined by location no matter how nice or poor the house. There are very few "good" neighborhoods in Lawton.
I would rather my dh pull the truck & trailer in the yard next to our garage locked in our gate than it be parked on the rd where it gets broken into or gets hit by another vehicle -- both of which we experienced in Lawton. Dh says he pays for that grass he will use it how he wants. *** but dh is also the one who will mow the yard twice a wk when we lived in town. He does like a neat yard. Where he would park wasn't an eyesore, you would have to be looking over my fence or see him backing up to know it was there. There are people who would get around the ordnance by setting all 4 wheels on brick pavers. That way they were not parking on grass.

How long ago did okc ban poultry?

Thank You Rebecca, they tried several things to prolong the pregnancy it just didn't work to full term..

As for the cities, I understand many of thier rules however some just do not make sense and I am sooooo glad to be out in the sticks..
Steph grew up in the city, I grew up out here and in Northern Kansas where the nearest neighbor was family and still 5 miles away. I get lost in cities and do not fit in with that whole lifestyle choice.

I will be making a trip to Newcastle for a show catalog since they failed to mail me one.. we may or may not stick around.

That seems odd, we bought a house in chickasha last year and remodeled it extensively. The purchase price was under 10 invested another 17 and a lot of clean up, got about 7 back for energy effiency from the utility co. and still some pending from the feds.. The property currenty appraises nearly 88.

We have bought some cheap foreclosures, just since the price was cheap doesn't mean that is all the house is worth. I am sure the house you bought the lot alone was worth close to 10. I would think it was still apraising for much more than 10 when you bought it. Our last house was a $48k foreclosure buy. Appraised at $75k with a hole in the roof. After $25k repairs & updates only worth $78. The prices are not about what you have but where you have it in Lawton.

Our wild barn kitties are now tame enough to pick up. They've been working hard in the shop all week and have caught at least four mice. Each mouse was presented to me in the morning when I opened the shop. They stayed indoors most of the day today, probably to stay out of the drizzle, but I could tell they were anxious to prowl around outside. They haven't bothered any of the chickens, and the dogs are ignoring them, so I think they are officially adopted.

Here's Tabitha waiting for breakfast.

Tommy is not a morning kitty. He wakes up slowly and spends a few minutes stretching and scratching before heading for the food dish.

Me too!!! No matter how many times I see it, it still makes me smile. How does one submit a pic for the pic of the week competition? I've looked and don't see how to do it anywhere.

I'm going to vote for parking on the grass too. I'd much rather have someone park on the grass than in the street where I have to drive around them, or it narrows the street to one lane.
