***OKIES in the BYC III ***

One man's back-yard-chickens-in-town is another man's car-parked-on-the-lawn. Part and parcel of the same mentality. People wanting to dictate how other people live.

First things I did when I moved to my 8 acres was park my truck on the lawn and bought some chickens. Felt like freedom, to me. I now (mostly) park my vehicles in the drive, garage, or on the gravel because I don't want to ruin my lawn. I just don't like government entities or neighbors telling me what I can and can't do on my own property.

Carl is guessing about a pound per quart.

Thanks because I found some but didn't buy because I didn't have the recipe with me. I hope to go back this weekend to get what I need & got to pick up some more jars from a friend....

It is a cute picture but I don't think that is a "3 day old" chick.

Have you canned anything yet.... You will never have enough jars, I finally got what I thought was plenty and it turns out I need more...LOL

I have only done salsa, I know that I will never have enough but I slowly add them. The friend has alot from her grandmother, I know she will never use them so I just go get them when I need them. I have her grandmothers pressure cookers & will be taking them to have them looked at to see if I can use them.

I got a peach tree!!!!

Serama are really small, too, and can be kept in a rabbit or guinea pig cage. Kept in a shed, garage (or even a bedroom) nobody knows they're there. And some of them have such tiny crows (usually the really small ones) that you can stand right by them and hardly recognize it as a crow.

Some serama have louder crows than others, but some have such tiny little crows you can't distinguish them as a crow...I sneeze louder than some of mine. If the neighbors can't see them and can't hear them, how can they POSSIBLY be offensive to anyone? My hand in photo for scale. Parakeets are MUCH noiser.

She will do much better by picking 1 primary and 1 secondary for showing. Make sure they both really have her attention and are in different classes.
I don't know what she has as of now but 1 single comb and 1 rose comb would work best as they will not compete against each other until best of show.
June, don't teh serama show in All Other Single Comb Clean Leg, AOSCCL?

Yes, Serama are SCCL......and I want to tell everyone that we are going to have the 1st ever (in Oklahoma) SCNA sanctioned Table Top show at the Shawnee show (2nd weekend in Dec)....everybody that has Serama, is interested in Serama, or just wants to see a bunch of crazy people play with their chickens on an open table please come. I will post more announcements later as reminders.
