Jackie, did you see the picture of the 2 EE hens I got from Michael at Mary's Sunday? It's a few pages back (page 1110). I love em'! I love the muffs and beards. They're still real young, probably just about ready to start laying. There weren't many hens that day but I'm betting he can sure get you some.
You "accidently" got the Cochin bug? lol Does that excuse really work?

Just out of curiosity... does anyone in OK have/breed/sell splash or lavender Orpingtons, or LF partridge cochins? Maybe some local EEs? I can't have roosters... but it'd be nice to have some color in with my black sex links that I'm picking up from Michael. I might just pick up a few extra from Michael on Saturday, heck I dunno.

Yes, James thinks I'm crazy. But hey, I earned it. The two 8 week courses ended this weekend (yesterday), I received notification of my grades this morning and I passed both of them with As... and that's AFTER re-joining this forum

I still have one that I'm currently in (a 16 weeker) and another 8 weeker starts October 3rd.

You are likely better off just getting them all from Michael at this point. especially since you only want pullets. Most will be selling pairs to help get rid of extra cockrells. It has also been a rather hard year for raising good birds so supplies will be limited.

I already knew I'd see what he has on the 1st. I was just trying to see if anyone on here had different kinds available. I *also* know that quite a few people are downsizing a lot due to feed prices. With the sole exception of the $500 pair on CL, seems like there are people selling pullets as well as cockerels and roosters. I'd just rather it be people I "know".

Evening all! Had agreat day. Worked outside a lot, cleaned up some more of the area where I tore down the loft. Extended the duck pen . Gave the birds a chopped salad treat and they forgave me for neglecting them this weekend!lol. I set one OE hen ,gave her golden phoniex eggs. I will proably have her and the chicks inside the shed all winter!
Also got one of my does bred so in a month I should have some baby bunnys.

Had another litter of G.pigs born this morning. There were three again. Thats three litters of three! These are all black and red absynians.

Then I came inside and did laundry and vaccummed and dusted and fixed supper. Also got some blocks cut out to start another quilt. My elderly sister embrodiered a set of dish towels for me,they have the days of the week and a chicken pic on each one. So I am taking the embrodiered part and making blocks for a quilt out of them. I figured that would be the best way to save them. Then I can pass it down thru the kids.

Well better get the table set, wife should be here anytime.

I need chicken Doctor help...had the weirdest thing happen and can't find any reference on the net....

We had one of our healthy pullets just loose control of her legs. She was still eating and drinking fine, her stools were "normal", and no sign of snake bite or any injuries. She was around 5 months old. She was hatched from our stock here so wasn't brought in from an outside source and no new birds have been introduced to this pen.

Any ideas?
