Sorry to hear that your Coronation Sussex hen has moved on to the big flock in the sky...they are such pretty birds and hard to come by.

Thank you sweety.

They are. Sadly, she was my nicest looking pullet out of the whole bunch.

I've had a heck of a time trying to keep them alive, but between the awful heat we had all summer, bobcats and our puppy I've lost abunch of birds I can't replace.

I am following your MIL's dilema just knowing how you feel. My Mom and Dad are 14 hrs. away i Michigan and I sure do miss them. They are in their 80s and have alot of health issues. I sure do appreciate all that my brothers do for them and wish I could do more. My Mom and I have a great time together when ever I get up there.

morning guys!! half a cup of coffee down-

Looks like the pullet in the second pic has perfect coloring. I am so glad they and you are together.

they are so awesome and soft! the second pullet is Cindylou Who.... and i think may be a little further up in the order- but these little gals have made me want to have more cochins- they are just wonderful personalities, my banty flock is my 'fun' flock, the laying flock is slowly shifting to EE's. I have my nn banty roos, not sure about what to do with them- they are really sweet, and being as i raised them i am torn on rehoming them

I sure have seen alot of pics of nice EEs on the thread lately. There were some nice ones at the sale too. I love the beards. If I had room for a laying flock I'm sure EEs would be the breed.

Well, you just put things in the proper perspective. This past summer was completely uncalled for, what were the weather gods thinking?? Still today it's supposed to be the mid 90's. It's Oct 1st in 2 days! How much you want to bet it'll snow before the end of October?
