***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good morning all. Wow, lots of chatter on here again the past couple of days.

The BarnSwallow - Congratulations to your son on his accomplishments!

He sounds like a strong young man who doesn't let a few stumbling blocks keep him from pursuing what he's capable of. Hats off to him.

Glad you found us. There are lots of knowledgeable folks on here who can answer your questions and steer you in the right direction where chickens or other fowl are concerned. We have the friendliest thread, too. Lots of very nice people.

muesky - I hope your DD is doing better, and glad to hear that she's not too seriously injured. Pelvic fractures can keep a person down for awhile so it's good that she has a supportive mom. Hope the chaplain can help get her home for her needed rest and recovery. Will keep her in my prayers.

Ksane - the mice must be stirring around a lot. Yesterday one of my cats presented me with a baby mouse. How thoughtful of him. My chickens catch them too but haven't seen them catch any lately. Guess the cat found them first. It's funny to watch the chickens play keep-away, though, when they've found a morsel of yumminess

Fixin' to head to urgent care and let them check out my ankle. I hurt it last week when I took a spill down the steps and it just doesn't seem to be getting better. I just know they're going to tell me to stay off of it and I don't have time for that...ugghhh

Hopefully I can get some help with it, I've got plenty to do hear around the farm to get ready for winter and with my husband's hand broke it is up to me to get as much as possible done.

Anyway, just wanted to tell Artsyrobin again how much joy those banties are bringing us. It is the highlight of my girls' day to get to go pet their chickens! Thanks again!

Good morning everyone. Nice crisp fall morning here. I got home at 6 this morning, had a second sleep study last night, they put me on a bi-pap and it kept my O2 level up where its supposed to be. It was dropping down in the low 70s.

Spent the day yesterday taking down the flight pen the pigeons used and hauling three coops over to my sale buddys house. He can use them and Its nice to be able to help out a young enthauist.

Had one of those "Thank You Lord!" moments this morning. Sunday morning I was moveing some parakeets around and a just out of the box baby got loose and flew out the door of the shed. I never saw it again and knew it wouldn't survive the night temps and not knowing what to eat. This morning when I went to let the EEs out ,there it set on one of their roost! Could not believe it was still alive much less that it made its way inside their pen! Very thankful for its survival.

I was afraid I would be really down after thinning down but I am enjoying getting back to pampering the few that I kept. I really enjoy my ee bantams and can't wait to get the hens to go with Thor the Icelandic roo. And the seramas are getting really cute,I am trying to get them all really hand tame.

Good morning Okla-doodle

I never really saw the point of seramas tho, but then again I've never seen them in person, maybe I'm overlooking something. Other than the fact they're tiny. LOL

You're going to love them! My Cochins have spoiled me for any other kind of chicken.

Mine were not handled at all, so they're very stand-offish. I'm hoping they calm down. I've had Cochins before, and they're little angels!
