My allergies are really making me miserable today... and for some reason my normal allergy medication is making me sleepy so I keep catching myself nodding off! I hate that.
Well i finally got moved all the way. Birds are settling into there new home well. Still have lots of plans for additional pens, etc. My internet and cell phone transition has been a real headache. So far home phone and internet is not working. I have very hit and miss cell service. I am using my new tablet to try to keep up on internet but it is hit and miss also. Am in okc today and it works good here. Just not so good in western okla. When things get calmed down and settled in better i will take some pictures of my new setup and some updated shots of fowl.

Congrats on the move! will look forward to seeing your photos.
We picked up Gracie from the vet on our home from OKC via Prague to Meeker...nice circle. She has several layers of stitches, The warty growth was deep within the tissue...vet said it was susicious looking so he cleaned up the area around it. They also found a few more skin tags and removed those. She will be on antibiotics for a week and then will get the external stitches removed. She is glad to be home...sacked out by the window with Red beside her.
Red is going in this afternoon at 2:30 for all his shots.
Jarvis...if you want to get the eggs today let me know. Roger will be here when I take the dog for his shots. Any CW babies this week?
Went to the barn to let the birds out to play. Figure all danger had passed since it was 1230. Let them out. Went to check on the guineas pen next to the barn & coyote was just standing there! Doesn't he know he is suppose to be sleeping? He got spooked & ran off. Figure he will be back in a few hours looking for a chicken dinner.
Jarvis did I read correctly you plant a few acres of melons for the deer? Do you just sow the seeds & let nature do the rest? We have several patches of volunteer melons they didnt appear until August after it rained. When I find them broken off the vine I feed them to the chickens. They seem to enjoy them, even though they aren't ripe.
Keep finding evendence of deer eating from the pear tree. Think could be a good idea to plant a few fruit trees in the woods. I know they won't produce huge yields bejng near other trees, but if they put out a little fruit for the deer that would be nice. And cheaper than filling the deer feeder.
Think my youngest DD is going to hunt this weekend-- since the deer are at the edge of the woods almost the same time every night does that count as hunting?
Nankat my Scottish terrier had a growth removed 3 times. It always tested negative, but frustrating that it kept coming back. Hope for a speedy recovery for your loved one!
I know I killed the thread--- so while everyone is just browsing I have a chicken situation.
RIR about 18wks old seems to had a crooked neck. This am she was laying on the ground notice she looked funny, but figured she was sun bathing. Go back in the pen to collect eggs and she is moving her neck like a parrot would. Almost turning her head all the way around. I gave her a few worms I found in the dirt, she can control her neck well enough to eat from my hand or from the ground. But she isn't returning her neck to a normal position. I felt her neck& it doesn't feel right. Can't explain in, but it isn't normal. No other birds are effected. I have heard of similar neck problems in crested birds, but this is a RIR I raised as day old. Any thoughts?
They are currently housed in the lean to off the barn. Dh did dig a small area in there pen this weekend. Could be something in the dirt from yrs ago, I know it is a long shot. But that is the only change that happened-- oh & it rained!
She hasn't been exposed to anything, diet hasn't changed, kinda at a loss on what it could be.
