***OKIES in the BYC III ***

They had adds in the local papers. It was a good swap and sale. Swap from 9 to 12 and then the auction. Had quite a variety. I had posted mine on here for $20.00 a pair and they brought $40.00 to $42.00 at the auction.

Was it a one time deal. Or is it going to be an on going thing.

Pretty excited around here this morning. Our little OEGB Crele that is the broodiest thing ever finally hatched some of her own eggs! Poor thing has set on her own before with no luck, we put some other eggs under her in the past that she's hatched out, but none of her own....so she she, as well as us, are pretty happy. They're still hatching now, so can't wait to find out how many does hatch.

On the molting thing from earlier...we have several runs, but three are right next to each other...it looks like all the birds in those three have had one heck of a pillow fight!

it will kill the staph that causes it, so if teh wound is open I would think so, but could not say for certian I have never had a bird with that problem.

Me either, just thinking ahead, and for those who are having the problem.

My daughter collected a handful of really nice feathers for craft projects. Since they'd been treated for mites, etc I don't see a problem with letting her use them.

I was really surprised to see them molting too. Added some dog food to their hot food ration starting yesterday. Hopefully that will help them re-grow their feathers faster.

We put our feathers in the freezer for a wk or so. Sometimes I find lost bags of feathers, but usually kids remember them.

Did a bunch of earrings a month or so ago. Plus I trade pretty feathers to a lady that has been making hairbows for my girls for a few yrs. I take a bag of feathers & DD gets a hairbow or 2 win win!!

Well, I'm not real sure what I got - just picked random from the local Atwoods store. I do know I have 2 roosters & 8 hens though! I have 3 reddish chicks, 1 light yellow one, 3 black ones with a white spot on top of their head, 2 that are tanish with brown/black spots on their wings and one that is tan with a big black diamond on his head & continuing down his back. He's the biggest one. Anyone have an idea what I have?

I vote they are chicks... Let us introduce you to chicken math, the chicks don't count since they don't lay eggs yet.
Roosters don't count either since they can't lay eggs.
hens that are not laying do not count
Birds you don't intend to keep don't count
the old saying never count your chickens till they hatch doesn't really apply either, I say don't count your chickens till you gather eggs. thats how many chickens you have.
