I caught a skunk in a live catch trap this mornin. I have a funeral to go to tomorror so wasnt real keen on movin trap this day. But where it was i would have to walk beside several times so it needed moved. I went in the house and put on rubber boots and gloves, put on insulated coveralls. A cap that covered most all my head. I looked a lot like a man in a hazemat settin. I walked up to the trap from the door end holdin a 6x6 tarp. I gentle laid it over the trap keepin it between me and skunk at all times. I then gentle picked u trap and carried it far from my pens to dispose of skunk. Did the whole thing without skunk scentin any. Funny i been catchin house cats, so changed bait to honey buns. Coons like sweet stuff and have caught several on honey buns. I guess skunks have a sweet tooth too.

Hey mike, did 'old dog' turn up? Btw, after all my years with.hounds, beagles and terriers, i have tried sll the skunk recipes, and plain white vinegar poured on dog, and wearing rubber gloves, rub it in good, and wash dog down with plain water.the next day. Also bedding them on fresh straw helps eliminate skunk odor.

Oldcowboy wen i was a kid we would run up an grab the skunk's by the tail ..Belev or not they cant spray if ther feet isnt touching the grownd ;
I allway's hate catching thim in a live trap an trying to get thim with out getting sprayd..I will have to try the tarp ..
My granmother allway's kept skunk's as pet's she said they wer better at catching mice than cat .Wen i was a kid you could buy skunk's at the fleamarket
they came in all color's white chocklate yellow an black & white desentd thin for some reason oklahoma out lawd the sale of thim .

The old dog never showd back up..Hope to get another are black&tan beagle wont run rabbit's ..He just like's cat's coon's possum's an skunk's O yah armodilla's
