Nothing really inventive. Whole chicken with lots of garlic in & on it along with a whole onion & other spices on top. Cant remember if you do facebook but there is a Crockin Girls that have nothing but crock pot stuff.

Thank you very much, I will check out the facebook connection.

I woke up unexpectedly at 12:40 this morning and immediately wondered if we had another earthquake. Since no one has posted on here about one last night (my source of information instead of the news) I am going to think that something else woke me up.

LOL, I can understand wondering considering the last few nights!! I have several food/recipe sites now on FB, my family is loving it. I found a spicy honey chicken that I will be trying in the next week.......then if I like it I will attempt to make it a crock pot meal.

Wayne, your little guys are looking pretty happy...glad you are enjoying them.

Robin, I can just keep yours until Shawnee...

Here is a color group that I am working on....don't know exactly what it is...just something that popped out a few generations back...don't know if it is silver or lemon or what...but pretty. Still work in progress.

Got up this morning, another dead silkie chick. I am having horrible luck with this batch of paints. The 4 older paints are fine. The younger ones, I'm down to 2. They act fine, I go in a little later and one is dead. I'm getting frustrated. Temp appears right, food is fine, no signs of any issues, then... dead chick.

I'm thinking I'll go KSane's route... after this batch, no more brooding chicks inside. If their mamas don't do it, they'll be bought old enough that I don't have to brood them.

I'm sorry Fairer, I just don't have luck with silkies at all so I feel your pain!

when did you get them? I usually add sugar to the water to give them an extra boost of energy.....not sure it would help but it couldnt hurt. Might also try some scrambled eggs.

Based on the male's appearance I would think Golden Duckwing.. He is not a dark rich red nor a real clean silver, then the presence of a "golden" color in wing bow, with the appearance of a wing bay screams duckwing at me.

Add some molasses to the water, the natural sugar will boost them up, the extra viatmins in it helps, and they will drink a bit more too. It will loosen up thier poop so it doesn't stick to them either so no pastey but to deal with either.

Thanks, taking that family photo, I learned the answers to a lot of worthless trivia...
1. If you put 5 chickens on a table, how many directions can they run?
2. If you put a clean white cloth under a chicken, how many seconds before it will poop?
3. How many times can a chicken poop in 2 minutes?.....multiply that be 5.
