***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Just unloaded the kiln. It's like Christmas after a glaze firing; a nice surprise and always so colorful. Now I need to attach hangers and wrap the ornaments for our family swap. I am firing the piggy doll heads tonight. Once I see the color of the piggy heads I can get the fabric for their bodies. Color is never "for sure" with ceramics because temperature, thickness of the glaze application, and power outages -- like we had today due to the high winds, affect the firing cycle.

POCO those are very cute. Can't wait to see your Piggy heads, meant to get my doll down when I got my winter clothes out so you could see a picture of it.... but I forgot, maybe tomorrow.

We are getting some wind & it is too cold already for me. 28 tonight so the morning will be really cold for me.......

Are you wanting to bake a gluten free cupcake just one time, like for a special occasion? If so it would be much less expensive to get a GF mix Betty Crocker has a good line of GF cakes, cookies and brownies. The ingredients in GF (the flours) are not inexpensive and you would need several types and guar or xantham gum.

Castile soaps (all vegetable): Lemon Verbena, Rosemary EO w/ground rosemary, Lemon Cucumber,
Recipes with lard included: Lavendar/Patchouli, Vanilla/Palmarosa, Poison Ivy soother (Tea tree, lemon oil, Aloe Vera), Citris Honey Oatmeal

Today I'm making Butcher's Blend (which helps to remove cooking odors...it has grit in it like the old LAVA soap) and Tropical Cooler: has coconut milk and Aloe Vera juice.

Those sound wonderful. I like the idea of the butchers blend. On the oatmeal do you grind it down to an almost power or leave it chunky? I am thinking of doing soemthing simular for my grandmother.

Yes, I grind it down with my electric coffee grinder. All my girls use this soap for their faces...won't use anything else.
