Robin - Galahad looks like one happy roo. Every time you post pictures I feel a little tug at my heart. I'm so happy he's part of your flock.
We nearly lost a rooster tonight. I had four roosters out free ranging tonight and didn't bother to put them into a pen because they had settled on the back porch. I figured they were safe there. DH and I were watching a movie, a rare happening, and we heard a commotion on the porch. I rushed outside, in my stocking feet and robe, and saw the backside of an enormous possum running headlong after a rooster. I ran while screaming, "Fly! Fly!" until I caught up with the pair. I picked up a five gallon bucket and whacked the critter with it and then tried to trap the varmint under the bucket. He was way too large, and I was only able to fit the bucket over his head and shoulders. He backed out quickly and then ran off into the west pasture. DH watched, stunned, and I'm still not sure what he thought about the misadventure because he's acting like he wasn't a witness. I'm going to check Facebook tomorrow to see how much he remembers (embellishes). All four roosters are tucked away safely in the pen they should have been put into at dusk. No more lazy me. I can't stand the thought of losing one because I was too tired to put them to bed properly.
