Where did you buy this stuff? At $12.00 a 50# bag and 17-19% protein, it might be worth it for me to drive and pick up several bags. I don't know of a mill around here so am stuck buying at TSC or Atwoods...and they definitely do not sell feed at $12.00 a bag!

You can buy a fifty gallon drums worth for $75, in harrah Oklahoma

You are right Matt. They told me the barrels will hold 340 lbs of feed. Thats like almost 7 bags of feed bringing the cost down to 10 something a bag. Only thing I havent figured out how I will handle the barrels here when I go to unload. Great feed. If buying at Harrah and driving any distance call them at 405-454-0044 to make sure they have it mixed. Their equipment is old and some days they are sold out.

Good to know. I have plenty of incubator space, but am not particularly skillful in setting the eggs. I don't want any more chicks until about February or March however.

Is this over in Western OK?

It's in harrah Oklahoma, North and West of Shawnee twenty minutes.

It looks great and sound really good for the chickens. That would be about 1.5 hr drive each way for me. If I got the barrel I would only have to go a couple of times a year at the most. I thought of a way to move the barrel of feed, but you may not like it. You would need an extra barrel and move it one wheel barrel at a time w/ a scoop or shovel until the lbs are manageable.

Is the game cock feed available at King's Feed in Harrah or another location? I don't recall seeing equipment to fill a barrel at King's Feed and that is the only place I know of to buy feed in Harrah.

No, it's not at kings, the feed store is just as you come into Harrah on the south side, just north of the park. Look for big silos, cant miss it.
