Remember when you plant zuchini that they grow big very fast. It's the big ones that make great pickles....and lots of them.

Thats the problem I am on 12 acres of very rich moist soil everything grows like mad here. I have had 100 lb pumpkins, squash and corn, end everything to the point I run out of freezer space. there is a bathroom (currently) that is scheduled to become a pantry for canned goods along with a 8x10 closet that is floor to ceiling with 18in shelves now that steph is figuring out the canning thing, and you keep getting me hooked on all this real good food. this list keeps growing. Soon, I will be down to one bedroom and one huge kitchen and pantry, good thing the kids are getting older and moving out already,

I think the Okies need to determine the best method of holding a monthly "enabler of the month" award.. maybe a T-shirt or something.. June would definetly have won in december.. Congrats on teh award June, you deserve much more.

Home early from the Newcastle auction. Saw lots of BYCers there as well as some nice birds for sale. Just too tired to say any longer.

Six of the seven Serama eggs have hatched but the last one seems to be struggling. It pipped earlier today and started zipping, but not all the way. I can see movement inside. Hoping for the best with it.

Loving the baby pictures tonight. Unusual but great looking pigeons too.

So looking forward to more babies next month.

I have one more day of renovations for the hen house. Will have to post pictures when that part is finished.

Thanks for the encouragement. The others hatched so fast after pipping / zipping that I expected the same with this one too. Keeping my fingers crossed for the chick.

Stopped @ Carla's to get a buckling-- came home with a bottle doe & buckling along with a weather. Think we are good on goats for a while.

Caught half of the Newcastle auction, since I was warned no new birds I only bought 2 nice young roosters & a EE pullet. I wanted the pretty big blue one, but settled for another pretty lady. I honestly dnk what color she is. She is kinda blue, but the feathers on her body had some wheaton in them. She was pretty & I liked her. I have a blue Wheaton roo she will go nice w this spring. plus she liked sitting in my lap, so she is a keeper.

Anyone looking for goats or muscovey Carla has bunches. She has them listed on Craigslist - they are located in Tuttle. Just be careful, lots of cute animals could cause you to buy more than you expect.
