We have been having very sporadic outages here but it is nothing local. Western Farmers Co-op's lines are getting old and can no longer keep up with the demand. Good news is that the lines will be rebuilt in the next year with lots more capacity. And probably higher bills too. LOL

Raining here NW of OKC, started about ten minutes ago so I had to go out and make another check to be sure everyone was ok.

She would be heart broke if I told her you called her a NN, she is Madagascar game, warrior princess. Queen of the ****** and all that good stuff. Or maybe my blue NN would be angery if she heard that some one called the blue vulture a NN.

It has started raining here...love the clean smell and the sound of raindrops!

The chickens were out helping in the garden today as I hoed the weeds already blooming in the beds...lots of tasty worms and bugs surfaced. I wheeled barrows of compost to the beds and spread it and the girls were right in there kicking the fluffy compost around. One of the Minorcas got comfortable enough to take worms right out of my fingers...they are a rather flighty breed at times.

she is very stately, I only knew one variety that had a naked neck.

This little girl (?) is out of a batch of bantam ameraucanas I got from Banjojoe last October. She was much bigger than all the others that hatched. Does that happen often?

my lav bantam amaraucuanas are BLEAM line and came from BYCer LITTEL AMAUARCAUNA MOM . I dont think that she hatched from my eggs

Buster so glad you got the chicken tractor from Grady. I am going to make the next Lawton Farmers Market meeting, just to get a feel for it. Still don't know if I want to take produce to Lawton Market or Chickasha. If I take produce to Lawton I will bring eggs, but I am thinking more like 40-50 dz a month (a drop in the bucket to the layers you will have). I know Lawton Market will mean better prices & more customers, but also means longer drive & more rules.

Yes Lawton certainly does have a lot of rules. I used to think it was because everyone felt that way, but one day the lead guy wasn't there and the truth came out. They didn't like it any more than I did.

It will be a while before I get to capacity. Unlike Grady, I'm going to let demand drive the supply. I hope to have a hundred or 150 or so good layers by mid summer. We still plan to do the meat bird thing as well. I haven't been to the farmers market meeting in a while, but maybe will show up at the next one.

Glad to see you are putting the hoop house workshop to good use. Post a picture some time!
