Carl it seems that the old presses are hard to come by. Just did a quick search and the least expensive press that I found would process 1,000 pounds an hour and had a 5hp requirement. The cost was $14,000 None of the pics that I saw showed the internal workings. But I bet I'm on the right track.

I am going to call some family I have in Northen Kansas, they have been up there on the family farm land since the mid 1800's and doubt anything has ever been discarded. One of them may know or have something the family used years ago. A Re-furb 1800's press could just be th etrick.
