Ok you got me laughing!!!!!

NNbreeder mentioned the Guy Rose Auction by Perkins on Saturday morning and Mary's Swap meet in Midwest City. You could make a weekend of it, starting with the Guy Rose Auction on Saturday morning at 9 am, then the Newcastle Auction at 6 pm, followed by Mary's swap meet on Sunday morning.

The Newcastle Auction is located on HWY 62 just South of a Park in the FFA bldg - one block from the Post Office in Newcastle. If you want to Google Map the Post Office you will have to pass the auction bldg to go to the Post Office.

Thanks, we love Mary's Swap Meet but our two little boys are in YMCA basketball so our Saturdays are gone until the end of Feb. lol. But we do have Sat. evenings and Sundays we get out of church in Choctaw at 10:30 is there any birds left after that hour at Mary's?

We might try the Newcastle auction that wouldn't be any further than Blanchard was for us, lol.

Is there any worth hitting on Thursday night or Friday night this week? We really don't "need" any other birds except for a few barred rock hens but that doesn't mean I won't come home with any, lol.

I can't wait until I can post pics I need help identifying my two little roosters I bought last week.

Only if you could find a fool to pay that much

I have seen people pay 20,000 for a coon dog. Seen many horses sale for in the 10s of thousands of dollars when I hung around the horse world. And as stated earlier back when legal there was much money spent on sporting chickens. Calling a person a fool for spending his or her money the way they see fit seems a little harse. Most of the people that spend that money on animals do indeed plan on raising and improving the breed. The person that spent the 5k on the bantams that started this discussion probable is breeding them suckers as fast as he can and that in itself is helping out the breed. Lots of times when someone goes to the expence to import certain breeds or varities, it costs lots of money time you pay for the fowl, then shipping, then quarinteen and all the other stuff involved in this process. So when someone goes to all this trouble and much expence, is he supposed to sell his birds for auction prices? Im going to end my part in this conversation with this post because I dont want anyone to get mad at me (or call me a fool)

but everyone who makes their own money has a right to spend it as they see fit. I am sure some of the things that any one of us does at time to time could be considered foolish. But as for paying them high prices for chickens (or other animals) goes, I am tickled pink they do, that way somewhere down the line people like me will be able to get some of these animals for less money.

Your dad?? lol!! He looks like a really fun person though haha!
I finally got my bugs! They're awesome. I bought 20 for $19 and he sent me **70** of them, can you believe it?? He knew how excited I was about starting a colony but I never expected he'd send that many! And ALL but 15 or 20 are over 2" and breeding size! Other places want $10 per breeding pair and this guy just sent me all these-wow. I was concerned about their shells being too hard for the chickens but they're not even as hard as june bug shells and we know how chickens slurp those down. I'm way excited.
Oh, and yes-their names are all Daryl so I don't get attached!

Cowboy, that's just my opinion, that's all.
You can bet some people think I'm a fool for spending $19 on fat bugs, too. But that's ok and I'm not offended.

Cool so the males don't have wings like the dubia's. That is great that he sent you such an overage. They look alot like the dubia's to me (except the wing thing).

Yes my father is very fun loving, the original "Peter Pan" (never grow up)
