***OKIES in the BYC III ***

All this talk of keeping men inline... I think I fit right in. I'm sitting here typing away, and my hubby is sweeping the dining room floor. Earlier he did all the dishes. Now if I could keep my kids inline.
Steph had it pretty easy I came broke in. My mother raised me to understand I was born wrong and therefore could not ever be right, I do 90% of the cooking, cleaning and dishes, steph deals with the kids as that is not my strong suite.
I accept when anything goes wrong somehow I was or will be responsible before it is over makes my life so much easier to accept these things.

Thanks for asking Nanna ,my chickens are doing well, put about 130 eggs in bator last week , with the feed prices so high i dont know how weeks im going to do. Hope you and Roger have a Blessed day.

thats why I cut back to nothing but bantams and reduced teh numbers of them too. I was going through 600 lbs a week now its more like 75 lbs a week. But have a few hundred in brooders and 50-100 more due every week now. Will likely be spreading some around later as they start coming up good. I have them from 10 weeks and down right now but can tell there are some showing improvements already.

I believe I will be eliminating the Brassy and Blue wheaton this year.. So Sooner and Lil-Sooner have first dibs on those birds. Of course I am adding Rosecombs so that will add back to the numbers but not too drastically.

Are these Marans or Ameraucana? I did a search and this came up for both breeds.

Carl, if Maribeth doesn't want all the black rubber tubs, I could probably use a few. I don't plan to be in your area before POOPS, but I do plan to show and sell at Pryor.

Just got the first egg of the season from my peahen!!! I have seen them mating, so could possibly be fertile. Still haven found any guinea eggs, but I am sure I will find some soon.

Nana do you think you will be making soap to bring to POOPS??? I could use some soap. I am down to only having honey oatmeal!!!

I am hearing chirps from the hatcher! By tonight we should have fuzzy babies.

Because of all the tax records required for making and selling soap for a profit (license, salestax, supply expenses, sales, etc) I don't make soap to sell.

Hope all of your babies hatch okay. How many are you expecting?

carl i'm thinking of building some a frames pens like yours
for chick grow out pens
about how much money in a pen

To build your self using Pine they can be done for around 75-90 each. I use local harvest cedar which makes them a little more but I don't have the bug problems or a need for treated wood since bugs and snakes neither one like cedar oils.
