***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Cowboy So glad to hear that your computer is semi back to normal!

We don't normally run in Window... our main computer is Linux based... but when we are in Windows we use Norton for that very reason. I am glad you were able to get it "fixed".

I hope you are behaving while your wife is gone. "those" type of sites give you horrible viruses. :s

Well cowboy I figure its all those pigeon sites that you visit or the gamecock sites! Thats about as risK as we old bird men get anymore!lol.

Spent the day prunning, roses, shrubs. My fingers hurt from all the thorn sticks! Gave all the birds a lot of spring grasses to nibble on. They are mostly water but hopefully they will do them some good. Finally gave in and clipped my Icelandics wings to try and keep them in the chickne yard. That way they have more room than their coop and get some fresh air and sun. It was funny watching them realize they didn't have fly power anymore!lol
Calling for a chance of snow flurries tonight!

About a year and a half ago I got a boot sector virus I had Norton running and it couldn't fix it I lost almost everything and couldn't get the bug removed I have since used Microsoft Security Essentials it's free and is much less laggy to the machine for me after living with the bug for a while I got an update for the malicious software removal tool and it fixed my issue, I got billed twice since for Norton and had to have the money refunded to me, so not so happy with them nowadays I do like the one I use now I think it's better and costs nothing so that's not a bad thing

You are probable right there Wayne. And on that note, a little story

Two guys one old one young
Are pushing their carts around Wal-Mart
When they collide.
The old guy says to the young guy,
'Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife,
And I guess I wasn't paying attention
To where I was going.

The young guy says, 'That's OK, it's a coincidence.
I'm looking for my wife, too...'
I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate'
The old guy says, 'Well,
Maybe I can help you find her..
What does she look like?'
' The young guy says,
'Well, she is 27 yrs old, tall,
With red hair,
Blue eyes, is buxom wearing no bra,
Long legs,
And is wearing short shorts.
What does your wife look like?'
To which the old guy says, 'Doesn't matter,
--- let's look for yours.'

I think all these anti virus folks hire people to make new virus's so we have to keep buying their stuff.

I use the free edition of AVG, it can be a pain but as far as I know nothing has gotten by it yet. I spend a lot of time on sites out of this country so it gets tested often. Who in their right mind would embed a virus in a website for chickens anyways? I have even had notices come up when on Youtube and Ebay but only on other locations rather then the US.

When I lost my files it was spyware issues more than virus -- that is why the company tech support had my use the anti spyware-- free version. I run it on all my computers now-- I also run mcafee. Computer issues give me a headache!

Since it has gotten cooler & the wind is blowing my peacock has began sleeping inside his shelter-- but my peahen was on the lower perch, so DH moved her into the shelter. She didn't want on the roost, but found a nice spot on the ground where she dust baths in regularly. Maybe after a few nights of encouragement we will have her sleeping in the shelter.

I was just checking the mesonet site & saw that next wk is suppose to be cooler & possibly wet. Rain is good-- but I don't want any ice.

It looks like I've got my days and night mixed up again. I have a habit of falling asleep in the chair at the computer. It happened again this evening (or last night) for about three hours, so it looks like I'll be up for awhile now.

I think all this moving preparation is getting to me. I feel so worn down with it all and still have a ways to go. A lot of stuff has been moved to a storage facility, and a lot of stuff has been donated and thrown out, but it's hardly noticeable around here. I must be a bigger packrat than I thought. None of the furniture has been moved yet. Most of it's going to storage since the lake house is already furnished. I'll hire a couple guys with a moving van to do all the heavy lifting when it gets time for that.

Robin - those Serama babies are so cute, especially when they ride on their mama's back. I took pics of my babies today but deleted them all. Those little chicks are fast little buggers and hard to get a good shot of. Have any of the eggs that came with them pipped yet? I remember you said that they weren't as developed as the two that hatched already.

Kass - Yeta looks like a very good helper, and a fun hen to have around.
