***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Upcdazy those are cute seramas! When you going to hatch some pullets! Just say-in!lol

PoCo I like the barbanters, they look like golden polish chiks! I've got an order in to sandhill, can't wait. Did they acknowledge your order when you sent it in? I have heard nothing from them. I wasn't for sure the date I requested was a hatch date or not and figured they would notify me,but so far have heard nothing. Maybe I need to call and verify the order.

Well we made it thru the weather transition without any tornadoes! Sure a lot cooler today than the 70s yeaterday!

black silkies are very attractive and very soft to pet. Silkies are also more intelligent than guineas or turkeys. Unlike the guineas, our silkies seem to be able to find the place in the fence where they went out, when they want to get back inside the fence.

Good to know, and here I thought it was only our guineas that were dumber than a box of rocks!

Sand Hill sent me a letter with a range of dates I might get my chicks. I'm only asking for two specific breeds, and the rest are LF assorted. The fist week in March is when they hope to send my chicks. I may have to wait until late March or early April. I don't know how many of each breed they have for breeding stock. The maximum order for Brabanters is 5, so I'm thinking they don't have a huge flock of breeders. You should get a letter confirming your booked order.

Well I gave in and got two bantams from Atwoods. They are so tiny and cute. Of course I have no idea what breed they are. They are bantams and they are chicks. Since chicks don't count and bantams are only half a chicken and I have tow of them does that mean I don't have to count one of the bigger chickens? Minus one chicken?

That is exactly how it works.. You add only the 1/4 for the Bantam hen, then subtract that total from the LF hens, but when you sell one you still subtract 1 full chciken, if you give it away you get to subtract 1 1/2 chickens from your flock..

I am looking for a Serama breeder here in Oklahoma.
I am actually wanting hatching eggs at the moment.
I may want to buy a pair or two in the near future.

Any breeder recommendations?

You need to talk to June, OKjunebug, she has some very nice seramas and amy have some available.

Kurt finally decided on a few different cochin bantams he is interested in seeing in person. We got one at an auction a while back but not sure what he is. I can't figure out how to post a picture on here from my phone. But the ones he has narrowed it down to is Silver Penciled, Silver Laced, Columbian, and Frizzle Bantam. Then he wants to see what a black silkie looks like in person. He isn't ready for any birds yet, he has been sketching coop ideas for the last week. That has to come first then he can get serious about getting a bird or two (well with chicken math the way it is, that means like 4-5 lol)

For Silver Laced, and Silver Penciled, talk to Bob Warren. I can get you his number he is not the easiest to get ahold of but can be reached and is worth teh wait for a quality bird.

Why is it when you have time off, everyone around seems to know it? I thought I was going to have peacefull day to relax and prep birds for Saturday but now I'm out to pick up and change a hot water tank for someone else.. Steohanie jokes that I'm actually only married to her but have at least 5 wives due to my "honey do list" from others.. Well at least it keeps me hopping and out of trouble, most of the time.

Everyone have a good day and weekend looks like it should be a nice one.

I'm in for a second cup of coffee and a few baby pictures. Bird/Wire - I will probably have a few Cream Brabanters available at NEOCS in June. I'm expecting five more from Sand Hill some time in March. I want to put pairs together that aren't form the same stock. Let me know in June if you're still looking for some. Here are the baby pictures: Cream Brabanters & Buff Catalana

OH. MY. GAWD!! I love these babies lmao!!! Why do you people DO this to me??? I was being so good and decided to just hatch my Bantam Favs and that was going to be it. I was so proud of myself for my self control. And then you do this to me???! How is someone like me supposed to resist this?????? I'm going to go look them up. You realize I have to build another yard, right?
Kass, that sign was hilarious. Heck, I don't think I can even fit into my earrings from back then.
And I missed you, Nana, and I'm so glad you're back!!!
