***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Kass, this hen is beautiful!!!!! I so love bearded birds.
Cathie, I've got got 4 feather footed Cuckoo Marans (2 boys, 2 girls) that are 8 months old now. Their super ultra tame, are yours like that?

Yes they are so very laid back, I have 3 that are non-feather foot and they are for the most part tame, but not was laid back as the feather foot girls. Of course the non-feather foot girls aren't in a breeding pen either. They are just for laying eggs to eat, lol. Our rooster did try to dance at dh yesterday but dh just moved him out of his spot and he has been a gentleman ever since.

Do your girls lay like this? I just wonder if it is the breed or just this group of girls. My other marans DO NOT lay like this.

Okay so I was inspired to post some pics, not as pretty as Kass's, but you might find my camera hogging turkey entertaining. This is how more than half my photos ended up

Yes, I know I'm breaking some kind of rule mixing species, but they appear to be just fine with it.

Chipmunk banty, he's gonna be my sickly kid, I keep having to clean his vent and in return he pooped in my two year old's hand

I just thought this one was funny with the other in the back telling him to quit hogging the camera

lol! Oceanseve, that's exactly how my turkey pics have come out since they were babies, that's funny :) I can't ever get pictures of them because they want to be right in my face seeing what the camera is. Have you ever had turkeys before? I never had and really like their personalities.

I've only gotten a single dark brown egg one time. I figured it was because they were born later in the year or something (July). I'm really impressed with how easy-going they are. They get along with everyone and the 2 boys are in the layers yard together and get along just great (unlike my Cochin boys :-/)

No this is my first time with turkeys, so far I like them. I've got one on me right now, he started chirping right after I took those pics and won't quiet down.

Oceanseve.
The chipmunck pattern on that bantam chick with a white breast is Spangled OE bantam.. and its a female..

Thanks Cjarvis :)

Anybody have ideas on the other banties? Two of the blondes are bearded and feather footed, there's also a mostly black one in the first pic.

Are they out of a mixed bantam assortment? I saw D'Uccles on a lot of the assortment lists. They would be bearded and feather footed.
