Cathie, here's my favorite picture of our Cuckoo Marans boy when he was a week old. He was always so big and personable. I'm wondering if all Marans are such nice tempered birds. Maybe that's why people like them so well.

I've only brooded chicks one time but did it on sand and loved it, easy to clean, easy for them to walk on, and since I started early w/ treats (insects, veggies and fruit very early) the grit they needed. When I brood my NN's I will use sand again.

Ah, TY, Les. It's been rough, but I think everything is on the upswing now.

Pretty much lost all TV after the digital switch. Still get patchy stuff out of Tulsa, but I can't stand to watch. 30sec on-2 min off- 4min on-1 off-etc So the storm was a surprise.

Thunder a few minutes ago and now some rain, sure do need it, with all we had all day it amounted to really nothing at all in my yard, My pond needs at least a foot to make any real difference so as much as the mud makes work a hassle the water is always welcome here

Today at 17:35 (5:35pm) my dad, Eldon Koch passed away. He had pretty muched slipped into a comma for the last week and finally gave up the battle today. Dad was 81 years old and lived life like he wanted too. Thanks for those on here that have asked about him along.
