Stimpy, I see that you were "viewing" a few minutes ago.

Thanks PB, I just bought some swedish off another Okie :) What a cool idea about the clear egg cartons.

So does anyone have links to an incredibly simply incubator plan?

mefordz - frito bandito..... have you read skippy john jones? :p

i have no idea who skippy john jones is, but when i was growing up frito lay had a frito bandito in their frito commercials. he even had his own theme song! dogs name was bandit when i got him, and the frito part came from me and him watching tv and eating fritos one night. it all just kinda came together from there.

Snow is beautiful. Fall colors are also. It's less windy where I'm from (Michigan) so the winters don't seem as bad as here. I also lived in NY for 5 years. You get used to the snow and fall makes everything worth it. Oklahoma is home now and I love the people, but I get sad in the fall.

pffffft, i hate snow, i hate hot weather, i want 65 degrees in the summer, and 70 degrees in the winter! on winter nights it can drop to about 55 then it has to level off. i'm not asking for too much am i?

No they came from Atwoods. Hm... Maybe I'll get lucky sometime in the future and have a orp x frizzle.... that just sounds fun.

The bantam assortments around here all list frizzles and I know I saw some at TSC a couple years ago.

Other than taking care of what we have and trouble shooting for some locals, we haven't gotten to do anything poultry related in months. I'm so excited!!!!

Hi Folks,

Just so you all know tomorrow is Dr. Seuss' birthday.

All is well in my own little chicken world. Hens are laying over a dozen eggs a day. Yes I have 7 dozen eggs in my fridge as we speak after giving two dozen away to my feed lady today. Guess I will be making a gigantic batch of egg salad this week.

So I am really jonsing for an auction, but kind of glad we do not have one this weekend because I have a ton of work to do. First and foremost replace the heater core in my truck. Yes I a simple girl is going to do this. Actually I am just thankful my truck is a good old American chevy cause after researching what you have to do to replace the heater cord on most vehicles this is a cake walk.

Already disconnected the battery and got the dash cover off.

Okay so I am putting this out here, just in case anyone comes across what I am looking for. I am looking for a white and a blue LF cochin rooster, white ameraucana rooster, any LF cochin hens with good leg feathering and white, blue and/or splash ameraucana hens. Going to start separating everyone out into breeding pens this next week. So I just have 4 pens and need to get two more built. Any help attaining birds is always greatly appreciated.

Well everyone it is getting late and I need to head to bed. Hope everyone has a wabulous Friday!!

Rebecca, are you going to have broodys hatch all your eggs?
I have eggs here in my incubator out of the batch of Bantam Favs I gave Carl to hatch and one of them is tweeting so loud I can hear him 10' away. He's MAD and he wants out lol His name is Lancaster :)

BYC now has a POLL option. I started a new thread and added a poll to it for choosing T-Shirts for N.E.O.C.S. If you have time, please take the poll. It will be open until the end of March. I'll interpret the data the poll collects and let everyone know in April if it worked or if it was a complete disaster. It was interesting to put it together. I just hope it works. The link is in my signature line, and here is is again:

Edited: I think you can only take the poll once. If you think you'll want more than one shirt, you can let me know at the end of March. Sorry about that. Maybe I can figure out how to make an online document. That might be better than a poll.

I'm w/ you on 55 being the coldest middle of the night middle of the winter low. But I also need some thawing out 90ish in the summer would be about perfect, and enough rain so that things don't dry out.

How can you wear the backless "little black dress" if it doesn't get above 70'?

That explains alot - I bought one Splash Cochin chick at Shawnee's Atwoods to keep my lone Mille Fleur chick company in the brooder. The Splash starting to get some pin feathers coming out at strange angles.
