***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I am counting my chickens before they hatch and have a genetics color question. What would be the expected usualish outcome of a blue roo over typical redish wild type EE? and same question but w/ a splash roo.

Hi everyone, we are loving this nice weather! Got a bunch done in the garden and will do more planting over the weekend. I have a newbie question for everyone. I have been reading about vaccinations that the birds need. What does everyone here vaccinate for? Are there any good links to nice clear information. Right now I swear the more I read the more confused I get!!

Oh yes, what time does Blanchard start tomorrow?

sorry carl, this is medicine week.

No big deal Jim, they are yours if you want them if not they will go somewhere else, but since you asked about some I will set them asside and let them continue eating, it's your call just let me know.

Around here and based on what you raise the birds for determines what vacinations are feasable.
You may want to vacinate against meriks, based on breed, Coryza if the birds are not too young or too old,
I prefer to breed for the imunity and let the weak ones fall out. The most common stuff a person has problems with there are no vacines for. Such as infectious sinusitis, respiratory ailments, etc. Best bet is control the parasites and stress and the birds will likely stay healthy, so long as they have good feed and clean dry runs.

Need some help from the tractor people on here. We bought a used post hole digger, apparently it had been sitting outside for some years, but we got it hooked up no problem, then he went to raise it and the shaft and sleeve that extend from the pto to the digger is rusted apparently. Any tips on how to get it unstuck?

Can't add anything to Carl's advice unless you have a torch handy. LOL

But one thing that needs to be checked is where the auger bolts onto the output shaft. Make sure there are no markings on the head of the bolt indicating that it is a hard bolt. What you want is just a regular no grade bolt or what is commonly called a shear bolt.

That is to assure that the bolt will snap if you hit something hard instead of taking out gears in the gear box.

And as always be safe and do a Call Okie to have underground utilities flagged before sticking the auger into the ground. Not every line is marked with markers in the fence line.

She had one.. planted it in the front yard. Bear ate it. that dog will eat anything, and I mean anything... He has been eating the started green bean plants, Tomatoe plants, and pepper plants, as well as mint, chicken feed, grass, table scraps and 5lbs of dog food a day.

Poor starving baby, lol. I would say he was lacking something in his diet but the only thing you left out was the kitchen sink, haha.

I wonder if it's possible for a dog to have pica?

My cochin roo, captain, has a respiratory thing going on- checked him over, tylan works on that? also am giving him a vapor oxine treatment- anything else?

That's what he's been doing, maybe I need to take a crack at him, I'm not as ginger as he is when it comes to things :p At this point we're looking at replacing the shaft anyway, so if I break it no loss right?

Thanks, looking at TSC for the replacement part we're kicking ourselves for not buying a new one. Any idea on the name of the place?

If you want to, bring it over to where I work on Monday and I bet that I can get it to pop loose. We are 1/2 mile N of Kingfisher on the West side of the road. We are pretty stacked out but I will make the time to do it.
