***OKIES in the BYC III ***

you think it's a boy? It looks awfully similar to the totally white, maybe I've got my lines crossed and those two are male and the other three are female. Been a long time since I've had to sex an animal! other than birds :) My initial thought was they are all boys. Usually I seperate one type from the other and then base my assumption off of color trends, calicos are predominantly female, orange tabbies are predominantly male. It's hard to tell when they are little.

Like I said as long as they are barn cats I don't think DH has room to gripe, which means I can have more than one!

Poco your killing me w/ those baby kitties!!!!!! Can anyone tell which are female? Gary LOVES kitties and we have rescued several strays over the past several years and had all kinds of bad luck (I don't actually believe in luck it's just hard to find another word) we have had a couple to get feline leoporsy, and some funky mouth rot that is basically incurable, so I think the genetics of the strays here is bad (weak) I am thinking about suprising him w/ a kitty, but not sure yet, haven't weighed ALL the issues w/ it yet. (I'm the terminal planner he is the spontaneous off the seat of his pants type that is trying to kill me from heart failure)

Poco and Ksane - IF you are unable to find an indoor home for any of the kittens, I will happily make them my barn cats, but if you can find them happy indoor homes then I would rather see that. None of those are my truly black male cat, so I'm still hoping to find one of those, but he will be an indoor cat when I find him :) I guess I am now in the market for 3-4 barn cats, whenever they find me.

So far I have Taron & Jaxon for the egg contest.

Any others? I know y'all have eggs! And I know there will be other kids at poops. Come on guys!

If you don't have a kid to enter your eggs you can always adopt a kid for the day.

Ksane, I have you down for a 24pk of pop. Thanks!

You can put me down for 2, I probably wasn't clear. But what kind should I get?

I don't have a problem with outdoor cats, honestly. Not anymore. Well, except when they're in MY yard bringing fleas and having babies under the chicken's building-haha!
The 2 I'm keeping are going outside. They'll get vaccs and spaying and Flea meds, just not indoor plumbing :-D

Give her vitamin/sugar water and keep her under a heat lamp and she will be fine. Isn't that what we do with our early hatched chicks, right? hehehe!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours Scoots.

i think that was poco, but i don't know if mother cats will take on kittens that way?

I totally hear you about being a sucker for cats. Think my youngest kitty maybe pregant. Hoping the kittens will be polydactyls, since more then likely the dad is one of my boys.
Most mama cats will take an orphan kitten of any age. At least that has been my experience.

Ahh, I thought you were looking for someone who could take care of them right now! I was thinking take care of and rehome. I was interested in Poco's cause I am always looking for a completely black male cat, not that I need one, but that's what my first cat was and I miss having a cat like that. IF you can teach them to not eat chickens I might be interested in them as barn cats and could do that. I'm not sure where you would even start on teaching them to not eat chickens. There is a rescue that relocates feral and stray cats to farms as barn cats I've been wanting to call them, but too afraid they would eat the chickens! I think my husband would shoot me if I suggested keeping another indoor cat.

My cats are totally not interested in the chickens at any age. Oh let me retract that, Sol likes to chase my peafowl because they fly up and honk. She thinks it fun to do that. Sol learned not to do this to the roosters because they will kick her butt. The snot!

I second that!

Well. Baby lily arrived 5.20pm 6lb 8 oz. Please keep her in your. Prayers as they'd. Take her to the nicu because of breathing problem so hard on mom!

My daughter was the same weight when she was born and had to have oxygen for a day but she turned out fine.

I planted some morning glory seeds in the garden in an area I wanted a light weight vine to crawl up to provide some shade. I know they will give good shade and be pretty, but in my constant quest for things to be multi purpose I googled uses for morning glories (thinking legit uses) well I came up w/ a slew of sites about the hallucinitory, lsd like effects of eating the seeds. Normally this would just be a mild amusment, but I did it on the work computer!!!!!!!

Guess I'll find out how much monitoring they do of our internet activity if I come up for a random pee test this month. lol

I've got kids but no eggs to enter :p All this talk of critters I want to share some pics :)

Guineas from birdwalkfarm

Cornish from Poco

flock of guineas I cannot wait to get outside!! I love their song bird chirps in the morning, but they are messier than the ducks!

The blind great dane we ended up with. I think we're going to keep him after all. That's Baby Cakes the guinea pig to the left.

Ratti, the rat of course, with my oldest :)

This is the only way I can get a good pic of a cat! I keep trying to sneak up on them in a window, but the moment they see me they are at my feet. Needy little buggers. That's my middle one she's sleeping on.

I was eating my lunch & kept hearing LOUD chirping. Started thinking when are those loud chicks coming out of the hatcher??? Then I realized these are the eggs I locked down last night!!!

Now I have a fuzzy yellow buck-eye chick, he is early, but perfectly healthy, making lots of racket & wants everyone to know he is here. I don't see any other pips, these were auction eggs so maybe they got a tad warm before me setting them?

These are the roos I am bringing to Poops If I understood birdwalkfarm right the first four are cochin/d'uccle. the last is full d'uccle. I may or not bring all of them, but I am bringing some of them. 8 roos is too many :p
