***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Everyone's irises are so pretty! They are beautiful flowers no matter the color, though I do have a preference for the darker ones.

Let's see now, first the OKC area was supposed to get storms today around 3 - 5 pm, then it was changed to 7 pm, then 10 pm, now they're saying 5 AM! What's the deal? I don't want storms, mind you, just a fairly good guess as to when to expect them. The changing forecast today sure messed up a lot of plans I had today. I'm sure I'm not the only one...

My hen who has been laying the small, bullet shaped eggs is still laying them. I cracked a couple of them open and they don't have yolks in them. It makes me wonder if she is nearing the end of her laying.

This one obviously doesn't have a homing instinct because he came to my house and wouldn't leave. My 12 yr old Guinea is the odd man out because this young whipper-snapper took his girl, can't have that.
If you don't want him I'm going to put an ad on CraigsList tomorrow. He's a really pretty purple color, I'm sure someone will want him lol!

You know he can always come here and live if you don't find a place for him.

That Iris is a beautiful color too.

I'm actually teaching preschool. But I'm thinking of majoring in history and teaching that instead.

Well my little guinea keets are settled in the brooder, your right Christina they do trill like a cricket, lol. They are so tiny compared to my 4 day old BCM chicks, lol.

Headed to bed I have my alarm set for 2:30 to get up and check the weather. Hubby said I kept kicking him last night when the weather radio went off, I don't even remember hearing it go off, lol.

Praying for all our okies in Woodward they got hit hard from the looks of it.

Praying for flks in Woodward...Sounds like parts of town and surrounding area got hammered by a big tornado. Five dead and many injured. Storms moving across the state.

Jamie is home but had to leave baby lily.I also wanted. To let everyone know Newcastle auction will start 5pm.from now on.the big poultry will start no later then 7pm!!!!! So please pass the word.I think this will help everyone in the longrun.

My buckeyes hatched as well. I will have to post pics of the buckeyes tomorrow, There are 3 different colors. It is my first buckeye hatch, but I am thinking something is off. I expected them to all look like my heritage RIR. Some look like production RIR & others have stripes like EE!! ETA reading a quick article on buckeyes here on BYC says they do come in all 3 color variations when they hatch. That is odd to me since the adults all look the same!

Glad to hear your buckeyes hatched....I would do some reading other than the BYC when it comes to them....3 color variations is not the truth....if you don't believe me, ask dgibson

Oceanwave...ask little hands where the camera went...when my daughter was two, she got my keys. When I couldn't find them the next morning I said "Sarah, where are Mommie's keys?"
Her response, "Keys!" and she toddled over to the kitchen cabinet and pulled out the covered cheese dish...she had put the keys there. I would have never found them.

I wish that worked I can't tell you how often they walk off with things, if I catch them right after it happens it works sometimes.

Ksane - Oakieride can have the guinea, All of mine are young so he would have to put up a fight to replace one of the males. Maybe that's why he left his original home, he didn't have a girl. Poor guy, just looking for a good time

Modernman - glad to hear she got to go home. It's not easy leaving a baby in NICU, like I said before my first one was in NICU for a week. She was about the same size as yours, 6 lb 9 oz. Hope she gets to go home soon!

Hope none of the BYCers had damage last night.
