***OKIES in the BYC III ***

June, you've just got to be on Cloud 9! That's just wonderful, you've worked so hard.

One of my husband's 6 debeaked red stars we got at Mary's Swap last year died. He just loves those girls. The way her stomach was swelled up right before she died my guess would be internal laying. They weren't young chickens but they're sure sweet.
Try B-12 vitamins from walmart for e-coli. We had a rooster down with it he was way off his feed and wobbled like he was drunk. We gave him B-12 drops in his water and in his beak several times a day. It was probably 2 weeks before he was back to being on his feet good and then we kept him in quarentine another 3 weeks to let him get his strength back.
I am rethinking the craigslist thing, now, lol. I sold alot last week but wanted to sell these others without having to haul birds to auction. Guess I will just take what doesn't sell this week to Newcastle.
mitzi, on the spitz, what is the poop like? have they been wormed? sounds alot like what i had going on a month or so ago- the only one that survived i put on penicillian-

Poop is normal now, was loose but they also had a lot of cow manure all over them. I'm pretty sure they were raised with a broody out somewhere which would explain a lot. And they could've been exposed to any number of a thousand things. It seems if chickens are going to make it, they're going to make and if they're not they won't. What I hate is when they're sick for months dragging it out then they finally die. I don't usually have the heart to put them out of their misery but lots of times that's what needs done, it's selfish of me to be so gutless. These 3 have been isolated from all the others, I was really surprised they made it til the next day the night I got them. They were/are in rough shape.

I'm in for a water break, there may also be a side of ice cream involved, hypothetically speaking of course.

gonna put chocolate sauce on it to huh, hypotheticaly speaking of course!

DH and I are caring for our granddaughter (from BVille) until Thursday. I had forgotten how much time and energy is required to explain everything I do during my day. Morning chores were finished by lunch time, so there's hope for the rest of the week

RAFFLE: We will need lots of help to display the RAFFLE items on the tables and to hang
the ticket sacks. With plenty of help it won't take long . I will also need a few people to help
sell raffle tickets at a table
. We can work in shifts so no one person is there for very long.

I am sure I will have more to add to this list.
I appreciate everyone's willingness to help.
Thanks,
Monty
Put me down for a shift at the raffle table to sell tickets. Also, do you want some numbered paper bags with chickens drawn on them? Since I'm babysitting this week, I can make time to do an art project. Let me know. I think we have about twenty paper lunch sacks. I could do bags for #1 through #20, and you could bring bags for anything above that number.

Sounds great ! That will make us 20 bags closer to being finished.
Thanks

I have lost the contact information for a person who had Serama eggs to sell in Oklahoma.

If you know who that person might be or you are that person private message me.

THANKS!

The rooster met DD again today when she got off the bus. She gave him some leftover spaghetti noodles & he was happy. I am scared the other birds are going to catch on & we will have a whole flock of chickens welcoming the girls each day. Good thing there is only a few wks left of school.

The birds spent the day sunbathing while I worked in the yard. I will say those fly bags we hung around the barn are becoming NASTY! But I don't find flies everywhere, so they are doing there job.

Got a letter that porter hill is having a general merchandise auction Friday night then birds on Saturday. We use to have several good auctions around Lawton but they all have left. Maybe this will turn into a good misc auction. Just not sure they have enough space to consign much.
