***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Robin the egg will be clear or will have a blood ring. Or it will just not look like the others.
I know that was real helpful right! We use to question ourselves in the beginning & crack the eggs open before lock down to make sure we were seeing things correctly. DD & I have never yet found a chick when we didn't expect it. Usually if you think it is a dud it is.

ok, here is the photo- i keep thinking since it filled in something is going on- what do you guys think? i glued the crack at about day ten

i can't believe this scam has worled for me 80 percent of the time i've tried to pull it.

you are one sick puppy, either that or you just aint seen old people nekkid!

OH! I love that pen!! now i know what i'll do!! the pics are great and i love sparky! ya know- you should bring some of that wood for pens to poops and in june for a raffle or auction for folks for pens....

The wooden boxes he brings home are just right here for the steps. I had to use 6 of them for Sparky to be able to get into the coop. Then there's 3 on the inside that he can step down on to get lower in the coop. The pickets I got at Lowe's. I do need to think of a project for those boxes!

so how many pickets?? gonna check on payday...:)
Haha, after doing 6 pens like this I've got it down to an art. It's 20 pickets for a 10' side and the pickets are $1.60 each counting tax. They're 5.5" wide x 6' tall. If I had it to do over again I'd set the 4x4's 8' apart instead of 10' because it's easier to buy 2x4x8's to run across them to hold the pickets than it is to get 2x4x10's. These pens are what I've been working on since last fall. Once the 4x4's are set and the 3 rows of 2x4's between each one then it's easy to screw the pickets. Just really time consuming and I have to stop every time I run out of money for it and wait til I save more up lol

Robin I have had chicks hatch 3 days late, when DD took the incubator to school & temps were off. So give it 3 days then toss IMO.

As far as the pickets go, this time of yr (with storms) you can find old privacy fence panels pretty easy. We got a whole trailer load of panels last spring & are almost finished with the last of them. They work for LOTS of chicken projects!

Mitzi would those boxes work for nesting boxes? Are they tall enough for duck houses? If they are a true box you could even attach them to the wall as shelving or cubbies. Maybe brooders? I am sure you can create LOTS of things with them!
