***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thank you guys for the post on the wooden floor. Next week the 1st floor of sis in laws house gets started on, I go back to work monday, and I am sure ready ! This old woman is not used to all the dry wall, mud and paint work that we have been doing. I can help sew up lacerations, do EKG's and stuff like that, but as for mudding drywall, it is not the job for me. Hope eveyone has a great day !

I'd rather be the mudder then the sander though.

Well I went to Atwoods a few days ago not wanting chickens at all. When I went over to look at them they had Naked Necks and bantam Frizzled babies. So of course I got two of each.

Not sure how that happened. Been seriously wanting both. Only two of my chickens are laying right now so I still only have two chickens, no matter what hubby says.

Where are the pics???

Nice cool morning for coffee on the deck with hubby watching the young heifers graze. Leisurely walk around the yard and garden with the dogs, coffee in hand. Life is good!

Picked these four heads of broccolli this morning. Best we have ever grown. And a picture of the canned poke from yesterday. Still need to wipe down the jars, remove the rims and label the jar tops.
Got to go feed and water now.
We have soccor games with granddaughter today too. A relaxing day after yesterday's long hours.

Beautiful broccoli! When did you plant it to have it be so nice and large at this time of year?

After reading all the steps to canning poke salad - I am tired just thinking about it. I have great admiration for those who actually get things canned - in contrast to myself who intends to get some things canned.

Nana thanks, I will pass on the info about the poke. I though I had alot of poke around here, but could never fill a trash bag!
The broccoli looks awesome, mine has never looked good & if it had the potential the bugs enjoyed before I did.

Carl the electric company may think you are on vacation when you shut those incubators off.

Cowboy -- 13 have hatched & so far 6 are NN. 7 are blue. Things are evening out nicely. The blues do look awfully good. Not sure if DD will keep the blacks or bring them to poops. I am sure she will need to keep a few special ones.

Going to do a few hours of chores then head to frontier city. Hope everyone has a great day!

well, was looking at the 7 cochin chicks, am pretty sure 4 are roo's, sigh.... they are getting pink combs, so i'll decide on one and bring the rest to the muskogee swap.... and here is a newer pic of the faverolle chicks... and their mama, broody from you know where!

You ended up with 4? Or 5? What sexes did you get??? Nosy minds want to know!

How exactly does one care for that many hatchlings?? I'm such a lightweight!

Husbands can't count, don't let it bother you. Just pat him on the head and say, "Yes,dear." We know you don't have enough chickens.

Your kitchen and cannings are just a work of art. Sigh. I always wanted my kitchen to look like that. It just isn't ever going to happen.
The broccoli I love.....the poke? Not sure but it does look like spinach. When I was a kid I wanted a can of spinach because Popeye ate it and made it look good. OMG. It was horrible! My mom made me finish what was on my plate. Popeye sucks and ruined many a dinner for little kids :-/

Oh yea!!!!!! I have 2 Silver Laced Cochin eggs in lock down from the Newcastle auction and one of them is pipped!!!! I sure hope they're really Cochins!
