***OKIES in the BYC III ***

i almost tinkled myself when i saw that.

only thing missing is the barrel of the shotgun, and the smoke!

LOL well I am glad I wasn't home to find them instead of hubby or I would have more than tinkled myself!!! Hubby thinks he stired up a nest of them or something mowing yesterday. The guineas were pitching a fit on the pond dam and he went to see what was up and found 2 and then not long of walking around the pond found the other 5. One was just a plain ol garder snake but hey in my mind the only good snake is a dead one. Sorry I know it won't hurt me but it might make me hurt me, lol.

Anyone in northern OK ... Kay county to be specific? We're trying to go away for a few days and need someone to care for the critters. We asked some people we knew in town but when they came over today they wouldn't even listen to what I was telling them needed done and the man kicked my chickens! I was so mad.

What do others do when they have to be gone for a few days to keep up with their birds? We were only going to be gone for four days ... but don't want neighbors calling the city and saying that no one is taking care of the animals.

They are breeding right now and you'll find them in masses all bunched up together. The striped ones are garter snakes and won't hurt your birds in any way. They eat toads, frogs, and small fish and crustaceans. The others are water snakes and might mess with a bird especially a small one but aren't poisonous ... still don't want them around your birds though. I'm surprised the guineas didn't kill them.

OMG I can understand city folk being hesitant to feed and water a herd of goats, or a feedlot full of heifers, but to KICK CHICKENS??? NOOOOO!!!!!
