***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I'm in for a lunch break. So much has happened on the thread that I don't think I can get completely caught up until tonight.

Due to our basement repair saga (and a plethora of other unexpected expenses), I won't be able to make it to POOPS this Saturday. I'm crushed that I can't attend, but I know those of you with cameras will use them. Please post lots of pictures and tell stories about the day so that those of us stuck at home can feel like we've been there.

A large miracle appeared in Naomi's kidding pen last night: a long-eared baby boy! Naomi gave birth without complications, and her little buckling is already knocking heads with Galen's baby, the largest and first born of our new kids.

Coral sorry you can't make it to poops! I hate those unexpected projects that snowball. The new boy looks so adorable! I am sure you will enjoy your weekend at home with the new kids!

What a beautiful baby goat! I almost want to have one in MY backyard! Of course that would be harder for my neighbors to overlook than all those boy Orps you picked up yesterday, Coral.

Think I'm in the wrong neighborhood? Yup, a farm would be good....

I don't live in the city, but I do live in town, I've been wondering if I could get away w/ dwarf milking goats. I've been thinking of trying it when we have fewer dogs, we have 3 now, and been wondering if when their go over the rainbow bridge if my neighbors would notice if I replaced them w/ the dwarf milk goats (or my husband would notice)

That is the most adorable face, is he as soft as he looks? Just looking at that photo makes me want to baby talk right to the screen.

I also have some photos for the swap, pardon me while I clog things up with large photos...
I know this crowd likes many photos so here are the candidates I am bringing to POOPS for the swap...I tried to get photos of all the important parts...combs, feathering and feet?

I can't wait to see everyone and their chickens!

Last yr I know someone brought a bunch of feed store type chick boxes to poops. Anyone brining boxes this time? I was going to scrounge up a few small boxes. Just not sure how many I will have.

I have a pullet that looks very close to the chick in pic 4 and 5. She is a cross between my banty buff cochin hen and my banty easter egger roo. She is buff colored, deep slate colored legs and feathered legs/feet. She is the first egg that I ever hatched in my incubator. She started laying this week and lays a tiny very light blue egg.
