Kass - I'll look at my NN babies and see if any have pointy saddle feathers yet. I don't think they do, but I'll check. I will also take a picture of the first NN baby I hatched. I'm about 90% sure she's a she, and she had tree-trunk legs when she hatched.

How are your chickie doos doing??? These guys are SPUNKY. Those black ones are not very trusting at all, the barred ones rule the planet (they think), Ms White is the most docile, almost cuddly of the group. I hate Reba l

Farm Tax Number


Folks were discussing this a few weeks ago. We just happened to be in the process of getting one. You apply at your local county assessors office. They ask you a bunch of questions, such as how long you have been farming, how many acres in production (I told them 7, since we use almost our entire property for free ranging birds, but I'm think 5 would be okay), what your primary product is (we said chickens, although poultry would have been more apt since we own and sell multiple species). how many livestock, and what kind of equipment (tractors and such, not pluckers or scalders apparently... we had zero equipment). They look your place up in their database, then fill out the app for you, and send it in to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

We received our card a week later.
