***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Shellie, I missed you a lot! I looked for you the whole time I was there.
Cathie, I went over there to talk to you and there was a big group of people there lol! I hung around for a bit waiting but then saw the Modern Bantam hen next to where you guys were and bought her.
See the trouble you got me into just because I wanted to say hi?

Edit: Jim, that's some pretty good gender fixing you did on the Orps. I'm praying like crazy both my 2 are girls.
Mitzi I missed you too! Although I know you just wanted to try to get those chicks away from me! LOL

LOL Carl did his best to get me to buy some for Nathanael!! That darn enabler!! I wouldn't be surprised if that drawing for those little birds Nathanael got wasn't rigged by him! So your not the only one going home with birds you didn't plan on! LOL

Oh Nana, dh saw his beauties today, he loves them. He was like "Okay how did this drawing thing work?" I told him and he was amazed that we got them. He can't wait for them to come out of quarentine!. I see a new pen being built pretty quickly! LOL

Oh my gosh... I'm still tired! Been playing in the dirt all day but I did manage to get some pics taken.

We both had a wonderful time yesterday. It was great seeing everyone and we really enjoyed talking to the few that we could. Just being able to check name tags and put faces to names was great! Everyone was so busy and I didn't want to butt into conversations. Besides, I've taken care of my 3 little mutts for a while now, but I'm so new at this whole big chicken world that I don't have much to say! Right now I'll just ask questions and listen and learn from the rest of you.

Mitzi, Thomas really liked that silkie you got. He's still talking about that little serama roo from the raffle! I think y'all got another addict on your hands. We have fairly large cage from when we had a ferret and he's already mentioned that he could put it back together real quick.

Thank goodness there's just the two of us, I couldn't handle a house full of chicken junkies!

I really thought there'd be no way I'd win those EE eggs, but surprise! I put them under our broodie as soon as we got home. She couldn't fit them under her properly in the nest she already had so I fixed her up. This is on a shelf where she had built a nest out of hay, so I gave her some walls for support with this tub and put it in the same spot that she had already and she's happy! Took this pic today. She's on the small side but she's determined!

I got one of the Silver laced Polish as well. Her name is Elvira! I am trying to find the cord for my camera so I can add more pics of all my babies. I have 2, 2 week old spitzhauben as well. They are so cute!

Looks like everyone got a mop head but me :-D
Carla, Thomas would love a Serama. They're the original house chicken and they're super tame. My little Serama is my best buddy.
Does anyone here have Plymouth Rock bantams? I've got a dozen Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Amerauacana eggs coming Wed and the incubator holds 24+. It seemed like such a shame to only fill it 1/2 way :-D I found these darling little white Plymouth Rock Bantams on Ebay, it was under $20 complete with shipping so I got them. It shouldn't be hard placing the extra boys (I hope). Aren't they the cutest little things??

Here's some pics of my humble little red star girls, along with my mystery chick. The older ones are 13 weeks and the younger ones and the mystery are 10 weeks old now. Still can't tell, he's(she?) got pretty colors but ??? No saddle feathers yet and still a lot of fuzzies too, so I guess more time will tell.

I had the run divided between the 3 older ones and the new bunch. Today I opened it up and these young'uns were having a blast in the tall grass! The other 3 never scratched much so it just kept growing. It'll be stomped down in no time now that the others are all over the place, I'm sure.

This is Bossy. She's always telling everybody what to do.

Found my cord, yay!!

Here is Elvira

Here is one of Fiesty

I don't have any pics of the others yet. Will get them when I can get our daschund far enough away to do it safely.

I would never do such a thing.... At least those little columbian's went to a good home. He will enjoy them, and should have the opportunity to show that pair this fall and winter season.

Oreo was feeding his ladies cherries today, so of course what is a proud chicken mom to do but get the camera out!

He's calling and she's coming as fast as her little feet willl carry her!!

I did the same today played in the dirt then w/ the camera.
