I'm so so sorry!
Nana, my money is on the Splash being the boy, too. Mine were over 6 months before they crowed!
Robin, I do have to wonder about someone selling "Salmon Faverolles" when they didn't spell either word right lol
Yes, it was Muesky looking for a white Ameraucana. I was thinking she wanted a hen but she was wanting a roo.
Kass, what are concubines? I saw you write that before and was confused then, too.
And my Dubia had a population explosion. The 3 day old Cochins and Orps had a frre for all! It took them an hour of running and chasing and pulling at each other's wings to eat 2 bugs lol! Man, they got viscious :-O Who'd a thought 3 day old chicks could be so mean

I have two coops the one Oreo has been in from the beginning, and the one w/o any roo at all. They were all from the same batch originally, but I seperated them into the two groups when they got big enough to go outside (one group per garden). I never let them out to free range at the same time b/c of all the talk about chickens attacking each other if they aren't part of "the group" until a couple of months ago when I decided to try it and see. There were absolutely no issues of fighting at all (but I digress) anyway I call the hens he lives w/ as his ladies, and the other group (roo less) as his concubines b/c after they started free ranging together he started "covering" them as well. A concubine is a secondary wife. (more then a mistress but less then a wife in some cultures and in history)

They get plum serious about the dubias!!!!!

We pretty much stay around Tulsa full time, but if he would be interested in all three roos, I'd be willing to meet up in Bristow or Stroud.

Thanks Tony O, The big roo has great coloring and a fine head full of feathers and spikes. I would love to keep them, but those pesky city ordinances and something about roosters crowing a lot - well you know. I'm putting an ad on CL as well. Thanks again

Howdy everbody! I am tired today. Spent the day weeding the garden and cleaning out all the coops. Then I moved babies around rearranged everything. One of these days I am going to get things just the way I like it.

I had a tragedy today. Today was supposed to be hatch day for the button quail I got from Newcastle. Well my hubby didn't realize my bator was plugged into this one power strip with a few other things and just turned the strip off instead of unplugging his device. That was around 7am. I did not realize it until noon.

I am so devastated. I had babied those eggs along and was so looking forward to this hatch. I turned the bator back on of course but I know there is no hope. I just sat down and cried. I even had the brooder all set up special for them.

I guess I will have to talk to BFrancis and see if I can buy some more eggs and try again. It really has me bummed though.

Oh no. :( That's horrible. I am so sorry.

I'd like to say,

from the okie thread on the Oklahoma side.
Those 3 roos are good looking boys. I sure hope you can find a home for them before they get you in trouble.

Hi James,

Those are some pretty roos! Do you ever get close to the Shawnee area? I have a son that is loving the polish. He would like one of those boys I am sure. I will have to check with the hubby to see if we can get any closer to you.
