Took a day to relax today...just me and the chickens and dogs while the boys raked and baled.
Took a few pictures....

gave the Broodie hens some extra chicks Delilah and Minerva took 18 extra babies along with their own. Here are their defensive stances

The call to food being answered by their new chicks

Delilah looking for Curious George and admiring the Cochin babies in the cage. Do you see George?

Our dog Red loves to "Go Check the Babies" and lays down for the chicks

And he has a healthy respect for the beak!

The Lavendar and Black Cochin babies from Bo's hens eggs. One is dustbathing in the food cup

The Rosecombs are true buddies

While Fred, the Spangled OEGB roo is molting, Ginger is his pretty girl.

NNN says "Honest Mom, we were just admiring their fuzzy butts"

Oh, Nana, I just love all your pictures!! The captions are wonderful lol!! I really enjoy when you post pictues, I feel like I know your birds because you tell stories about them a lot. I most certainly did NOT realize Bo was working on Lavender LF Cochins either-wow! I can't wait to see what those babies look like in a few months.

I bought eggs at a NewCastle auction and carl hatched them for me. I have 10 gorgeous babies. Three are black and 7 will be lavendar. They hatched the end of April and even at a couple of weeks you can already see personalities developing.
