***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We really get a kick out of him. Ask Red " do you want to go see the babies " and he is all wiggly and running to the door or the gate. Then he lies as close to the chicks as the hens will allow and whines if one of his favorites moves too far away He is really alert to any that are hurt. He whined until I checked a cage where a little one had a cut on it's neck from a wire in the cage. GOOD DOG!

Nanakat, the chickies are adorable, that is going to be quite a "snow storm" during molting. lol But I Love the "chicken dog" wish I could have that kind of harmony.

Nanakat, those are beautiful babies. I can't wait until my LF cochins are old enough to start breeding. Right now, I have only one roo old enough to do the job and everyone else are youngsters, some about the size of the ones in your pics. Serama Sam's blue buddy and a pair of reds are the oldest I have. Of course, I have to pick a slow growing breed!

Morning Peeps~ I see the board hasn't slowed down!

Lynn give Teach a big ol'hug from me & tell him we miss him! Let us know how he's doing!

Mefordz sent you a PM if it went through, had trouble.

Everyone have a safe holiday weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my first real exploding egg tonight. Was locking down eggs & a turkey egg rolled into the edge of the tray. Sounded like a gun shot. I even had egg on my PJ's. DH came asking what in the world happen. And the smell was AWFUL! I had candles the eggs a few days ago & I am wondering if that egg got missed or what. Hatching & raising birds is always an experience!
DH & I are off in the AM for a couple of days away. Hope the kids will be able to tend to the farm with the help of my sister. Taron was greatly worried we were locking down eggs before I left. I told her they would still hatch if I wasnt there to watch them & I would be back in time to take them out of the hatcher with her.
Who plans on making it to Blanchard? Guessing there will be more chicks this time since there wasn't an auction last wk. I am sure we will manage to find something we need while we are there.
We gave all the birds an extra water tonight & the ducks clean water in there pond. Going to be HOT the next few days!
Good night all!
We are going to try but no promises I need to run to Perry at least on Sat. I really want to make the trip to Wellington,KS and Enid to put flowers out but I really don't want to make that trip by myself. Plus I have the suburban this weekend and it doesn't have AC. Call me a wimp but I need my AC lol. DH's truck will be at home and I "could" drive that but probably won't. I don't like that big ol' dually. Have a good few days away, every parent needs time away from the kids and home at some point!

Good morning all! Hi Carah!!! The dang wind is still blowin like crazy here in north central Okla., I hate wind, would rather fight rain and snow than wind!!! And of course we live on a hill where the wind never stops!! I don't think there is anything to stop or slow down the wind between me and Kansas!!! We could use some rain, but notice that the wheat is ripe for harvest around here, I can hold out for rain till the farmers get their wheat in, it looks like a good crop this year everywhere, I see more hay this year already baled than we got the whole year last year I think! I have two broodies that are hatching out, cant wait to see what all come out of them! I sent Coral a text last night, I think my family is going to try to make the NEOCS and see whats going on there on June 16, sounds like a good Father's Day trip to me!!! Monty finally got some eggs from the Spotted hen and the Grey hens, I am leaving them to see if they will go broody, I put my Spangled Toppy in with the Speckled Toppy hen and I put the Greys in with a Butterscotch colored Punkin Hulsey cock(that I plan to take to Teach), I hope they go broody, if not in a week from now I will collect the eggs and try to find a hen or incubator to put them in. Hey Carl, have a question for you or maybe Guy, if I wanted to show one of my Punkins, what color would they be listed under, the ones I have are the light ones, I call it Butterscotch colored, would that classify as a Buff or Ginger, Thinking the Darks would be Ginger but not sure?!? Well yall have a great day, stay safe, Lynn

Got your message! Sure will be nice to visit with you. I can have an honorary Father's Day name tag waiting for you : )

There's an N.E.O.C.S. Facebook page running. Lots of talk and good information there. If you're a Facebook user, you can search for N.E.O.C.S. I can post a link later today.

just a quick request for okiT...she needs to show you these cool cages she made!! i think they would be handy for auctions and NEOCS- hard to explain but she got some of the small garden fencing and covered it with wire and made a bucket type affair.... can you post a pic?

Oh yes please post a picture, please. I would love to see how you made them.

lost our runt duck last night :( Looks like he got his head stuck under the frame of the little coop. Not sure if he did it or he had help. His whole head and neck feel like they'd been slobbered on, but no damage, thinking maybe one of the dogs slobbered all over it after it died, maybe. *sigh*

the piglets are doing good, but one is gorging so bad on the milk that she can't hardly walk after she's eaten, I see now why they call people pigs when they eat too much :p
