***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Needing to find a serama hen.my daughters died over the weekend. It was a silken and we have the lil male that keeps looking for her. Sianna was planing on breeding these at least once to do hatches with. Any birds, suggestions, and or help?
I have lots of Seramas, as does JuneBug.

Missed this post! My best little buddy is a Silkied Serama from Junebug and my daughter has 2 of the most beautiful light Blue Silkied Seramas I've ever seen, they came from UpCDayz on this board. Here's pics of both. I'm very very (very!) happy with all 3. I need to get updated pics of the 2 Silkied Blue's. They've matured a lot and are beautiful.

Hardly got any rain at all last night. Just enough to wet the driveway. Maybe that will change this evening since the forecast calls for rain again.

I noticed early this morning that my favorite Serama hen, Bunny has developed a prolapsed vent. She got a nice, warm soak and a bath to remove poo that was stuck to her feathers nearby. Then I put a dab of Vaseline on the prolapsed part and pushed it back in. It took a couple of tries to get it to stay inside, but at last check it was OK. Bunny is such a trooper. I just love that little lady.

I'd love to see how the little ones have feathered out. I keep meaning to tell you that one of my cockerals is colored very similarly to Channing, but without the brown on the wings. I"ll try to get a picture of him to show you. He's a doll. Channing is gorgeous, too. You've got quite the little fella with him and his fun personality.

chester has a funny crow its like hes trying to get it started but it just konks out. He loves to spend time with sianna. She when had them both would take the pair out for suppervised range and handling. Chester talkes to you when you walk up to the cage. He is such a fun lil fella.

We spent an hour this AM sorting through the 2 grow out pens. Think DD had 50 or so keepers & only 15 that she doesn't want. I also had 2 heritage RIR in the pen, but the rest were all hers. Told DH & he didn't sound taken back at all. Really wonder if he will ever make that girl stop acquiring birds!

I think most of the rain missed us, but happy to see we have a 50% chance tomorrow now. Hopefully it is all rain & no hail. My garden can't endure a 4th hail storm!

Robin thinking of your FIL & Cathie hope things go with with your mom this wk too.

What is it w/ men and thier noisy toys???? When I go out to weed the garden it is so pleasently quiet. I can hear the wild birds singing, the shovel slicing through the moist dirt w/a swoosh, the excited chickens clucking contentedly for their share of the bug loot, and all is well in the world. Then Gary comes over w/ his new "toy" to help me, it is a tiller attatchment to his weedeater, now the only thing I can hear is the roar of the gas motor, and the choking stench of the gas motor. Now instead of pulling out whole runner grass roots in one fell swoop, now I have gajilliouns of tiny root pieces all ready to make more runner grass if I miss even the tiniest piece!!!!! MEN!!!!!!

My little guy is only 5 weeks old. He came inside with some missing wing feathers and was looking sickly. I have had him in here for about a week now and he doesn't seem to be improving. He has had some diarrhea. He is missing more feathers and his eyes seem red to me. I have added in a few pics of him that I took today. I can't afford a vet visit so I am trying to help him best I can without that expense.

This is a little blurry but he is laying down favoring his right side.

If it is bad enough I will have hubby put him down this evening. I don't have the heart to do it. Would like to be able to save the little guy cause he is such a little sweetheart. WHen I first brought him in he snuggled up against my cheek :(
